New releases - SSW TF-104G and BBS Scottish Aviation Bulldog

Featured Replies

Looks like it's a weekend of new military trainer releases.

First up is the Sim Skunkworks TF-104G (the 2-seat combat capable trainer version of the notoriuos F-104 Starfigher) their follow up the rather excellent Fiat G-91
Looks to only be on Simmarket so far, but I'm guessing other stores will start selling soon

Next up is the BlackBox Simulations Scottish Aviation Bulldog (used during 70s and 80s as elememtary trainer for RAF and others)
This is only available on the BBS website and I'm not sure if other stores will be picking up though I expect it'll make it to the Marketplace eventually.

I've only tried the Bulldog so far and my first impressions of that one are very positive, looks good, sounds great and feel really good to fly. A fun old school trainer/tourer though I think it could do with an extra NAV radio and an ADF.

We sure have a bunch of military aircraft for a civilian flight sim lol!! More of the same. I wish we would start getting a bigger variety of commuter aircraft. Regardless, appreciate the heads-up, Matchstick.

Much as it pains me not to buy immediately I think I should wait to get this from Just Flight myself.

The Starfighter is available right now from Sim Market.

I have their Gina and I love it but 36 euros for the F104?

 I dunno...

If I get it I’ll have to sell the kids for medical experiments when PDMG release just before christmas.😎

Thanks for the heads-up. Going to the Sim market right now to buy the F104. 🙂

Even better

Aerodynamic pitch up, inertia coupling and BLC system reproduced
Payload drop actually changes aircraft weight, balance and drag as well
Inertial navigator Litton LN-3 fully implemented

And landing at 180 knots 😄

😀😀😀

I was lucky to have flown in her twice as passenger with my jet passenger card, while I served in the Luftwaffe. An experience I will never forget in my life!! Fürstenfeldbruck west of Munich to Decimomannu, Sardinia with the Transall C 160: 3 hours, 25 minutes. Deci to Fürstenfeldbruck with the F104: 42 minutes 🙂

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

Quick review. A  lot  documentation but the most useful I found among word not allowed guide for radar and tips LOL They could have done it little bit more user friendly with some tutorials. Original manual of F-104 probably would take days to study! LOL Nevertheless, airplane is very nice! In my opinion it flies better than JF Hawk . Less oscitation and more stability. Obviously there are some limitations on ground radar. It seems limited by some geographical location and USA is not one of them.

Air to Air radar works!

Drag chute is nice!

Not sure what I don't do right. But without afterburners I'm unable to keep level attitude at around FL30th Airspeed bleeds and level flight look like on pic below
