Windows 11 no Mic detection

Recommended Posts

Hi

Since upgrading to Win 11, P2ATC no longer detects my microphone.  I've gone through and checked the Mic privacy settings and P2A is set to use microphone.

I've tested voice detection within OneNote and it parses my voice into text.  But using the grammar helper in p2A, no voice detected.

I'm set to US English

Is there a key setting I need to setup?

thanks

Martyn

Not sure if those image links are viewable.

No worries though, I can just use Sayit for my flights.  Still better than MSFS ATC 😄

I didn't notice it was a button, sorry.

Looking at the Grammar Helper shot, all looks like it's set up correctly.

The only thing it could be that I can think of is the Mic is muted, or the microphone level settings in WIndows may be too low.

To set those, you can go into Control Panel (The old one) by going to Settings->Sound-> and then select the link on the right to Sound Control Panel.  Select Recording tab and then select your headphone.  Go to the Levels tab and be sure they are turned up.  I have mine set all the way up, but you'll need  to be sure that doesn't cause distortion by listening to the results on the Listen tab.

While you're there, you could check the Advanced tab.  Some users have reported that lowering the Mic format to DVD quality or CD quality got them going again.
