Recommended Posts

Looks very promising and could be released by the end of this year!

Hello !

Today we will introduce "Atmospheric Sky Enhancer" for Prepar3D v5.2 H1 !

First, what's Atmospheric Sky Enhancer ?

A lot of peaples ask if it's TrueSky and yes, Atmospheric Sky Enhancer is a redesign of shaders of Enhanced Atmospheric for Prepar3D v5.2 H1.

Here's the features (actual changelog) :

- Recreated night
- Better management of lights and sunray
- New atmosphere
- Custom fog effect
- New sky textures based on shaders (sunsize, day and sunset)
- New 3D clouds modified by shaders and volumetric.cfg
- New color implemented in Prepar3D for a better render

(note : ActiveSky is fully compatible but Rex weather engine not !)

Second, where's and at which price will we found it ?

Without real surprise, Atmospheric Sky Enhancer will be payware, we estimate the price around 25€ (without VAT), you will be able to buy it on SimMarket !

Last, when it will be available ?

The beta program will begin this week-end, we want to release it without any bug so we don't have an ETA but we imagine a release before the end of the year !

That's enough for today, I will let you with 2 previews (the night lights are going to be for the second update) :

A little sceptic so would like to have better and more detailed info, not as general and enigmatic as better management or recreated night

How is this any different from

envtex and envshade ?

mike

EnvShade does nothing for sky/clouds/haze in EA mode, while this seems to modify them…..

The problem is: what happens if LM solves EA mode problems?

For this version 5.2 I would buy, but without knowing the future (5.3 with good EA?) is risky.

With LM, this isn't something you need to worry about...

An all-in-one package that 'fixes' TrueSky clouds, changes sky colours in EA mode *and* includes night lighting, should be considered great value.

I'll wait for LM to release v5.3 (should be due between now and end of February based on previous releases), but this add-on is on my consideration list.

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D; MSI RTX 3080 Ti VENTUS 3X; 32GB Corsair 3200 MHz; ASUS VG35VQ 35" (3440 x 1440)

I like the sound of this and will be watching for it. Sounds like something PTA used to do. EnvShade Is not good and screws up the coloring of VC cockpits.

Until LM implement local wx themes with EA this addon is just rolling the word not allowed in glitter- yes it may make the atmosphere look better but seeing the same globally repeated cloud structures to the horizon until the next wx injection updates is the deal breaker for me with EA

Almost $30 USD seems excessive.

I hate how those devs try to squeeze out any last penny from those who stayed with P3D... I mean I understand that it would not be worth producing something for P3D because the sales would rather be in the hundreds, but still... That's for T2G's updated airports, too.

Show me this addon with an OC seen from above.

If it looks not repetitive and flat then I might purchase it.

Considering the changes in 5.3, I wonder if this add-on will work unless modified?

They revealed today that the whole project was "set up from nothing" (aka, it wasn't real) and they got tricked (?) by the developers (i don't know how this makes any sense tbh). I always wondered how the heck they modified the compiled trueSKY shaders, since unless you want to dig into it with a HEX editor or disassembler there's no simple way of editing them (and it would be such a huge pain in the butt to keep updated as well, kudos to VRS for updating TacPack as they use API hooks and some assembly work to keep it compatible with new client updates...)

Their discord server got raided with trojans and their forums are now offline
