2 More CTD Cases Noted

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed that when selecting/clicking on a gate 'spot' (not from the drop-down list) from the world menu, the sim CTDs when trying to load?

Also, just had a CTD when in the drone cam and moving up fairly high then hitting the reset (num pad 5), the sim hangs, then CTDs.

I'll log these if no one else has already.

I had some very odd CTDs ocurring after installing the last MSFS release and finally isolated it to the Visual C++ Redistributable library I had installed. I deleted the ones I had (from 15 months ago) and slapped in the latest 2015-2022 x86 and x64 and all my instability issues vanished.

Yeah, it seems that most people's CTDs from what I've seen so far might be general (driver related) or something like you said.  Not sure they're actually technical FS issues in the code base, but who knows.

Hmmmm... well since following your tip I've been CTD free so tentatively (cross fingers, touch wood etc) thanks! Probably placebo but who knows?

I made a fresh install of Win11 last night, followed by a fresh install of MFS today... Evrytime I try to start a flight I get a CTD.

MFS is so far the only flightsim installed in my new Win 11.

Noticed that after enabling DX12 (beta) mode I could start flights without further CTDs, but have to do more tests. The suggestion to install the VC++ libraries above looks promissing - will go for it and report back the results.

Main Simulation Rig:

Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, 1 TB & 500 GB M.2 nvme drives, Win11.

Glider pilot since 1980...

Avid simmer since 1992...
