Here is how it was today.  Cruising off the coast of Georgia (USA) at 9,000 ft with scattered layer at 5,000.  Haze normal and realistic.  Winds aloft from SW at 10 to 15 knots.  Pressure in the low 30.20 range.  Very close match to metars and FltPlan Go winds aloft.  Tomorrow's flight will be from Maryland to central Indiana.  What will tomorrow bring?

Glorious shot Frank .

Only if you've installed the program in the default location.

I have. Don’t most people? Or do most install elsewhere?

One way to get around that, move the folders out of the default install location when the time comes. Let the sim do what it needs to do, and then put them back.

Don't regular updates solves this? I mirror all MSFS (among other stuff like work-related) to an external hard-drive using FreeFileSync twice a week.

Kind regards, Michael

well, since it defaults to C:/ this may be what many did; I like others have a dedicated SSD for just MSFS

Well. The more things slide, the more they seem to recover.  I completed two flights today along the USA east coast and the weather was absolutely spot-on.  Same as my flight inside Florida yesterday.  The three flights, yesterday and today, depicted the most accurate weather I have yet seen in MSFS, all the way back to intro.  Understand that I have been perhaps the greatest MSFS weather critic.  Today the cloud layers, baro, and winds/winds aloft were all well within tolerance to chase away any complaints.

I have not detected any updates to the sim.

Go figure!

Although I only did one flight yesterday, I had a similar experience in that, for the first time in days, KRNT didn't have a haze/fog around it, and I wasn't having to struggle to see the runway from 1,000' elevation.  (It was an overcast day, with broken clouds at 3,100', but that layer didn't seem artificially low.)  A minute or so after I landed, it began to rain, and I was seeing and hearing it -- on my previous flight at LSGG, when it was supposed to be in heavy rain, it just seemed to be heavy haze, as I'm guessing the rain was falling from a cloud base below ground level.

Now, I'd have to do more testing but, so far, the main problem I was experiencing since SU7 seems to be gone on my first flight.  I'll have to try it again later on today but, if I still don't see it in a few locations, I may reconsider my plans to join the public beta.  (Then again, maybe I won't -- I wouldn't want to see the problem reappear in the hotfix.)

Hi,

How to install this update?

Is it the same procedure as the previous ones?

I'm a bit confused.

Thank you.

In MS Store download / install the app XBOX INSIDER HUB

Logon with your MSFS/MS credentials

Select Previews

Join MSFS Beta/Preview, wait until your "application" was approved

Go to MS Store again and check whether/when you see the MSFS beta pushed to you for download

It is only a beta test at this stage John, not a proper update.

Beware that it can affect your installation under certain circumstances, which may require a full re-install after the testing has finished.
So unless you are sure, I wouldn't tempt fate.

It seems to be going well anyway, so if there are no major show stoppers found in the beta, it won't take long to release it in the future.
My guess is maybe about another week for the formal hotfix if no major problems are spotted.

Do you or anybody else know if it's already available for all MS Store users?
I don't see it yet in my Insider Hub and I couldn't find at what time it's supposed to be released on the official forum.

Thanks

as has been said several times before: not under certain mysterious circumstances but only if you installed the sim in the default path offered by the install program somewhere on C:\......... simply change that to point to a new, different path, like I have it on: D:\fs2020, and never had to re-install MSFS since day 2 😊

My understanding it is a public beta available to all and everybody interested, however I do not know when it is "released"/opened centrally today, maybe around 4pm UTC as with other updates before
