Changing the config file when adding textures

Recommended Posts

Guest Christian256

Hi allI have FSX running on Vista, an experienced simmer i presumed the task would be simple but....I am trying to add textures to a default a/c, I edit the config file but I am not allowed to save.I trawled through these forums last night and picked up on the fact there seems to be two config files, the one i am trying to edit is the one contained in the MS Games/FSX folder. Any help would be appreciatedThanksChristian

Hi Christian,When you attempt to save a file that's in the Program Files directory, you can't save the file because the files are write-protected. It's a security feature built into Vista. In order to work around this limitation, right click on your FSX folder, and uncheck the read-only attribute.Regards,Jim KarnNOTHING is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
