Tried to check it on the sim but the airport doesn't exist?

Yeah, but it's not in the sim. It's not an airport?

If airport located in US you can always try to find it at airbav.com If it's not listed then 99.9% it doesn't exist!

Yup, Mount Washington is not an airport. There are several automated weather observation stations in the U.S. that feed METARs into the system, but aren't airports. Usually they're locations that offer relevant weather for someone; on Mount Washington it might just be for research.  Many mountain passes that highways cross have these for instance; I think primarily intended for drivers, but very helpful for anyone dumb enough to be, say, flying a VFR-only biplane cross-country.  😁

KHIE Mount Washington Rgnl is the closest airport only 8 nm distance, winds there are strong currently, but still "mild" compared to KMWN:

Just to be clear about the Mt. Washington weather station, it's at the top of the mountain, over 6,200 MSL. It's reachable by the Mt. Washington Auto Road or by a cog railway. It's the highest point in the northeastern United States. KHIE is in Whitefield, NH, around 1,100 MSL, even though it's close by.

The Wikipedia entry for the mountain includes the phrase:

Quote

The mountain is notorious for its erratic weather.

Indeed. I heard once that one reason for the wild winds during the winter is the proximity of the polar jet stream, which occasionally develops a vertical "kink" that dips low enough to impact the top of the mountain. That might explain those 200+ mph peak wind speeds which have been recorded up there.

Unfortunately, the MSFS mesh isn't particularly good in the Presidential Range or Mount Washington Valley to its south, so many interesting topographical features look like mild hills. Maybe one day these will be spruced up a bit, and we'll be able to see the ledges that rise vertically from the valley's floor. The flight sim representation is much improved in X Plane by the use of the HD mesh that is available for the eastern US, so it can be done.

if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere 😊

took a flight today from nearby KHIE Mount Washingtion Rgnl towards the KMWN weather station. yes I could see it clearly on the summit of the mountain in broad daylight/sunshine, complete opposite of what the real world Metar shows. so unfortunately MSFS gives a word not allowed since it is not derived from an airport

Was about to comment that this is just a commonly Vagar METAR but then I saw KMWN...
