Which add on improves elevation mapping accuracy?

Recommended Posts

Guest

There's so many add ons out there I'm not sure where to look, but I have seen some screen shots of this. Basically I'm looking for something that adds more detail and accuracy to the terrain elevation data, making mountains more realistic, without changing the textures. A lot of the mountains do not have their real world shape and appearance, and this add on corrected that. Also whats the best place to look for these kinds of add ons? Thanks!

Thanks. The product sure sounds nice but it seems they do not provide any screen shots. If somebody wants to sell me a visual enhancement product they had better provide screenshots!!! lol

Yup, FSGenesis for FS9 & 10 here too! Memberships are well worthwhile...

Today, I took a few photo's from U42 (10 miles from KSLC) with a mountain skyline backdrop to the east. I'll get some "simulated" versus "real" shots, for tomorrow.L.Adamson

Hi,You might also try FSGlobal2008. It's similar to FSGenesis and cover pretty much the entire globe...... There's a clue in the name I suppose. Here's the link: http://fsglobal2005.comStu.

You know, I was just browsing this thread, and I was thinking, "Dang, this pilot's got the sliders all the way to the right in that first picture."I had FSGlobal2005 for FS9, and I liked it a lot; I imagine their new product is good for FSX. I am about to review Abacus' Extreme Landscapes USA, which actually provides terrain maps for all of North America, but it's going to be some time before that review gets published. >You know, I was just browsing this thread, and I was>thinking, "Dang, this pilot's got the sliders all the way to>the right in that first picture.">:D A few more....Actually, most sliders are to the left, with exception of auto-gen, bloom, and water. Water's moved to the left in last pic.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170809.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170810.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170811.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170812.jpgL.Adamson

I got a lifetime membership with FSGenesis a few years back, and I haven't regretted it. LuisKMIA

Thanks for the link to the FSGenesis screenshots, though unfortunanty I don't see any that are before and after shots in FSX. Certainly that would be the way to sell a product. The comparison shots I see for FSGlobal2008 are the ones I saw originally, and since they actually provide comparison shots right on the product page, it might be the product to go with. That FS guide looks to be quite useful, so thank you very much for that one!
