I agree with you, Adam. But CS must have had the time of their life yesterday. MSFS has opened up for them a whole new world. Suddenly they have a truckload of new customers. People, who have never heard of CS before and have no idea of their non-existant customer service. Their 777 version must have sold well, the same will hold true for the 767. And I bet, it won't take long until we will receive another e-mail from them that now also their 757 is available for MSFS. For them, MSFS is a treasure trove and as long as their business model works (which it seems to do), they won't change, whatever we here on avsim say about them.

Oh, btw, but don't let anyone know, I bought their 767 yesterday. 🥵

The contrast between what is written here about Captain Sim and the
reality was well illustrated by the pressure put on its website and servers during the 12 hour sale.
Their products are what they are and they do not pretend otherwise.
Once that is accepted and that they do not react well to spurious complaints in ther forums,
Captain Sim are good to deal with.
I have several times over many years had to ask for the activation to be reset, in each case
it has been reset within 12 hours, usualy within two or three, depending on the time of day
when the request was made.
I also get that it was a 12 hour sale and that transactions outside the 12 hour window would not
attract the discount. Basically, a very good deal but for the first come, first served.
Even so, one can read of those who tried to buy and failed and also those who
tried to buy outside the 12 hour window and saw the full prices and yet still complained.
I also bought the 767 for MSFS and am entirely happy with it.

CS? No... Just no. I  have a list of 3 where it's never more and CS is one of these. And, for me, never more means never more.

Yer.. well the "reality" is there are 10,000's of MSFS users that dont come here, have no idea of CS History. "ignorance is bliss" as they say.

If you think there forum surport is good then so will the other "xxxxx" that buy of CS. 🙄

Your entirely happy, great i am happy for you. 🙂

I bought these 3 bread rolls from ebay and  I'am entirely happy with them, a bargin for £10. What more could I ask for only £10?

You only have to read any CS topic to see how "well illustrated" or put another way, how "highly regarded" they are by people that have been around for years.

Or the CS server(s) aren't designed to handle more than, say 50 people, on them at any given time. Then 200 people could bring it (them) to its (their) knees. Unless you are working for CS' IT 'department', there's no way to tell.

Good for CS if they did make lots of sales and earned profits.
There's a market for their stuff. It just doesn't include a lot of people who know what their modus operandi is.

I switched back to P3D (happily so) and therefore 10 dollars for their 767 and 757 was a quite good deal, especially since I never had those aircraft ever before. I did feel bad to give them money after what they did, still.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

This is only my opinion of course,

I bought some little thing for P3D and I personally never had support, to acquaintances of mine I know that they did have support, but in bad manners or words, so I am thankful for not having support,

for my part I will never have anything from them again, not even if it was free,

as I said at the beginning, it's just my opinion, please don't judge me ...;)

I tried to buy it but their web pages were freezing, and then I couldn't find my CS login info, so between the two I gave up.

Yep, me too. Would have preferred a non-stretched model and/or the cargo version, but otherwise I quite like the look of the plane and for 9.99 it's good for me.

And I even bought the 767-300 for P3D. Never thought I'd buy anything new for P3D again but - at that price. As I've re-instated P3D on my system since the 5.3 update and will use it on rare occasions I thought why not.

Not a huge fan of CSim's current approach to doing business, but I've enjoyed their stuff in the past and even their currrent 777 for MSFS, which I bought when it came out. And it's not as if they're engaged in child molestation or anything. I would hardly claim to feel well treated by Microsoft (thinking Windows and their general approach to "who's in charge here?" on my PC) and at least I have a choice about CS. (and don't bother to tell me about Linux - been there, done that from around 1990 onwards and not even remotely interested these days)

If I look back at my hangar for all the systems I have from FSX through to P3D 5.3, I've probably actually got most of the CS aircraft, and been quite happy with them all. They're no longer in the realm of the real good guys, for sure, but there are plenty of bigger cowboys out there in cyberspace. I'm certainly happy to buy their stuff at these sort of prices, but unlikely to do so again at anything more than that.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
