Well!  The KDFW included in the "premium" package leaves a lot to be desired.......it is kind of halfway between crappy and payware material.

Bummer, I did not know that as I dont have the premium package.  I will have to look around online to see how bad it is.  Thanks for the headsup.

Why just include payware?

Someone FINALLY started modding KPHL for free. Why is Philly so neglected? Such an iconic city and no one cares about it.

BWI was available for P3D (was it LatinVFR?). Hopefully that would be a sign we’ll see it in MSFS.

Unfortunately much of that list has been ignored in P3D as well so fingers crossed we’ll see something in MSFS.

DFW is in the standard version. It was part of the USA world update. But like someone else said it is not really that good

Indeed.  It has the potential to be a good airport addon if Asobo opened it up for people like us to fix it.  Taxiway lights are a mess.  Gate alignments are a mess.  The airport needs to be updated to support AI traffic.  The whole airport area could use some love and optimization as it is pretty heavy on frames.

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

It's kind of funny, there's an outpouring of airports for Europe and South America, but seemingly far fewer for the US. I mean I'm not really complaining because I'm flying in FAR more places than ever before, but it does seem like devs aren't releasing as many payware airports for the US as they did for past sims.

KBOS is one of FlyTampa's next releases. KCLE is has been mentioned above as available. KIAH is FSDT's next release. KMSP and KPHX are Flightbeam's next two releases. KPIT is planned by FSDT. KSLC is planned to be brought up to date and released for MSFS as well by PacSim.

Most if not all of the others may not be announced, but they have been done for P3D and/or XP by reputable developers and are popular so I don't see why these developers wouldn't bring them to MSFS.

Who is doing KDTW?

PacSim has stated that SLC will be years out. So it is not currently under development. Would be a golden opportunity for someone else to step up and make it.

PHNL Honolulu International Airport is a Class B airport (https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/vfr_class_b/media/Honolulu_Class_B.pdf) and is not available from a third party right now, nor is it under active development by anyone to the best of my knowledge.

According to the FSDreamteam forums, it's on their list, but it sounds like the dev has put it aside for now in favor of other projects, and it's likely (I'm guessing) multiple years out if it comes out at all:

As of 23 November 2021 from FSDreamteam:

"We don't have any news about PHNL right now. Sim Update 5 was a disaster, and stopped us for months, because the editor was so bugged and unusable ( it crashed continously ), that we had to go back working on some updates for P3D, because we couldn't progress much with airports for MSFS. We should have released KCLT months ago...

We'll release KCLT in the next few days, then KIAH will follow later on, then likely KMEM. Then, the scenery author will might go back to PHNL. The rest of FSDT is all at work on GSX.
"

All of this is a shame, in my opinion, since we have excellent, detailed, payware airports on the neighboring islands already from Northern Sky Studio, Pearl Simulations, etc.

Does my 2007 Terminal D work with it?  😁  😁 😆

Hoping to see KBWI by LVFR sooner than later as the airport in the sim is terrible....missing the main runway (33L/15R) and still has an old closed runway (22/4).  VerticalSim developed it for XP so there is a chance we could see them move that into MSFS as they have done with some of their other airports which I have been impressed with.

  • 1 month later...

With me being out west, for me the big 3 are:

  • Minneapolis KMSP
  • Phoenix KPHX
  • Salt Lake KSLC

With those closing the loop on the B Class, I would be good to go.
