Since 2 days : startup is CTD - restart is stable

Recommended Posts

Anyone else has experienced this ?

Since 2 days the first time I startup MSFS just before going into the main menu it crashes.

If I restart MSFS and choose start Normal it loads and I can fly as long as I want ..,,

I started MSFS Monday....no issues at my side Gerard.

I'm not at home now....so can try it after the weekend again.

Hi,

I know that didn´t help, but there are nearly only 2 days where I got no error.

First start CTD - same as you - second start works perfect.

Error-Massage that my license isn´t found, but starts and works perfect.

CTD at the flightplanner.

CTD when some USB-port isn´t connect.

This piece of software is a Diva and all flightsims before are DIvas, that will never change 😉

Are you trying to start it from a pinned shortcut on the taskbar or from a desktop shortcut?

In the first case it happens to me too, so I unpinned it.

For some days now, I can't start from the taskbar. So I go into the Steam Library and click there and it starts just fine. I'm not sure when this began. It was not a big deal, I just click Steam Logo on the taskbar, click Steam Library, and click Start MSFS.

Starting from the FSUIPC shortcut. It makes one if you install it so FSUIPC is also active.

My left view client has no issues with the exact same config.

Perhaps it will disappear as fast as it appeared …

I have the same problem, only change I have made compare to before was buying the Kodiak 100.

So I test if my first flight is with the Kodiak, CTD. If my first flight is with another aircraft, no CTD and I can then fly the Kodial without issue. By any chance when you have your CTD were you flying the Kodiak ?

Funny, I get this crash and delete my community folder. Run msfs then put back the community folder and it's fine.  I'm suspecting it could have something to do with the order in which my scenery addons are loading in the xml file.

Gerard,

Exactly how I start. I've had your start CTD followed by good start when selecting normal on re-launch. It's happened several times over the last several months, but suddenly disappears and may not return for quite a period of time. Have you tried deleting simobjects directory, and content.xml? Just a note if you use Navigraph nav data - remove it before deleting content.xml, then launch sim to create new content.xml, close sim, install Navigraph, then relaunch sim and you'll be back in business with nav data. If you delete content.xml with Navigraph installed and then launch the sim you'll have no nav data, then will have to close sim, remove Navigraph, launch sim, close sim, re-install Navigraph, relaunch sim.

I am convinced the CTD on launch is related to reading an addon, but I haven't figure out how or why, because it is not repeatable.

If I plug in my joystick after it launches it will 95% CTD. Now I plug in before I launch.

My joystick is always plugged in so that's not what has caused the problem for me.
