Speedboat for MSFS on simmarket!

Recommended Posts

This YouTube vid does not show the boat from a SPOT perspective...so you can see the LACK of water/hull interaction and a wake that is starts beyond the stern...   MSFS has a lot of work still for anything like float planes and boats to show the wake effects that P3D has right now...fanning wakes...dual wakes...dual prop wakes...turbulent wakes, water spray....  none of which MSFS can display at present.   I'd consider this, if that can be addressed. The boat has to look like it is IN the water...and you see that water hull interaction.  Right now?  Nope....

The video you've quoted isn't even a boat..😏

All that huffing and puffing about what P3D has, but no comprehension nor experience of the actual product being discussed here.

The RIVA BOAT has a proper implemented rear wake effect and sits in the water correctly.

As for a "spot perspective" go watch some 2D perspective videos instead, I'm sure there will be more vids popping up soon of angry pubescent teens sailing it over shallow vanilla scenery creek waters with a keyboard or xbox controller and screaming it's "shovelware" once the recess bell rings. 🤣

Meanwhile I'll continue to create videos in VR the way I WANT to experience the product I've purchased.

Got it? Comprende? Ponimat?

Love to see more boats as well! MSFS is great as a boat simulator as well! This mod is awesome!

I bought this the minute I saw it on Simmarket! I absolutely love it. Ignore the people saying it's trash or not needed. It is super fun and is a beautiful model. Keep up the great work Adi!

Glad you two are enjoying it as well!

I love the power it makes and you can really feel the torque and speed in maneuvering it narrow through waterways!😍

It amazes me...the desperation some here have reached just to let us know they don't like anything but aircraft in their sim, as if boats and cars haven't been around since FS98🤣

Boats and cars in flight simulators rock! Glad we finally have solid addons for land and sea travel !🍻

I want a working beer holder, a selection of beer liveries, and some hooter girls and a nice mp3 player.

I considered it, but wasn't sure if simMarket was gonna be okay with it 😆

I will buy this if it can simulate a typical fishing outing, where I whip out my pp to take a leak after all the beers I drink and the wind blows it back onto my fishing partner.  That would encompass all the aspects of a spectacular water sport environment.

You only need to change the "flight_model.cfg" to get the contact points to work with pushback. I suggest not messing with the "engines.cfg".

Simply add the following lines (wheel contact points taken from the Icon) after the last contact point (11) in the Riva's flight_model.cfg. Here is what it should look like after you have made the changes: https://imgur.com/bASb0xn

point.12 = 1, 4, 0, -2.98, 750, 0, 0.523, 90, 0.296, 2.5, 0.794, 3.5, 3.5, 0, 165, 165, 1
point.13 = 1, -3.9, -3.1, -2.8, 750, 1, 0.523, 0, 0.286, 2.5, 0.808, 4.7, 4.7, 2, 165, 165, 1

Hopefully I can pull her out on the water today and explore Gustavia.

So it should look like this:

Took her out for some more exploration, unfortunately the pushback still doesn't work with those lines added.

As for maneuverability your handling/tuning for her isn't that bad( I steer her using Saitek Cessna rudders and CH Eclipse Yoke's throttle) once you get a good feel for her she'll do pretty much what you want her to do with small analog adjustments and inputs to the rudder and throttle.

Can even somewhat dock her with the right amount of timing after coasting her into a parking/docking space after engine shut off.

After spending more time with the Riva I can maneuver her through busy docks and piers quite well now, there is some night sailing at the end of the video, where you can see what areas of interior lighting is needed.

At 90 knots she can get you back and fourth between Sint Marteen and St Barts in no time. @KL791 Caught a couple of your boats/ships out there!🍻

@Seafront Simulations Your Vessels addon really brings Gustavia, St Barts to life! Very cool scenery to look at from above and at sea level.🍻

Looking forward to more work from you all!

Yep, interior lighting is definitely required, will add that for sure.

I'm very sorry I missed out on another thing with the flight_model.cfg (I'm used to changing these things in the editor, not the cfg itself):

If you add more points and the total goes above 13, you need to change the "max_number_of_points". So in this case, 16 should work. I had someone E-mail me about the pushback, and this is what I was missing out on.

Just bought this awesome speedboat from simmarket.com for €10! Super fun to drive around! It has a virtual cockpit view and the model is amazing. Brought back fond memories of the fsx Riva Aquarama, although I do miss the babe in the bikini lying at the back haha!

It's got some unfinished parts like the internal Cameras views aren't there and there's no pilot & copilot in external view but these are easy fixes and I'm sure the dev will sort it out soon!

All in all, a good buy! Check it out here.

https://secure.simmarket.com/adi-s.-luxury-speedboat-for-msfs.phtml

Version 2.0 of the Luxury Speedboat is now out! - At the time of sending this message, only on simMarket. But expect it to come to flightsim.to within the next 12 hours.

- 10+ functional buttons added to side panels
- Several model and texture improvements
- Reverse functionality
- Larger wake effect
- Improved rudder control
- Glass fixed
- Throttle issues fixed
- Horn added
- Fuel cap added

For version 3.0, you can expect:
- Paint-kit and several liveries
- Larger GPS tablet
- Better VR functionality
- More to be announced in the near future, stay tuned!

Thank you all for your valuable feedback, please keep it coming.
Happy boating 🙂
