Massive framerate hit with FBW A32NX Experimental

Featured Replies

Happy New Year,

Today I installed the latest version of FBW's A32NX experimental. Compared to the development version (0dbab2d), I am losing about 40% of fps. Am I the only one experiencing this? Just curious.
(For the time being I will revert to the development version).

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

No fps hit for me with the experimental build. But I don't use live traffic.

No problems here (with beta) and using AIFC.

The Experimental version is not active right now...only Dev version so switching to that should help.

Did they take it down?  I saw a Facebook post from them this morning saying they had put it up to allow testing of the new LNAV.  It also includes the new TCAS system.

No, the experimental version is back in the installer. Quiet a few added goodies.

HW specs? FBW is the most frame rate hit airframe in MSFS.

Specs are the same as with the development version. Only difference? I now started with the experimental version. All goes well up to the moment that I import a Simbrief flightplan. FPS then drops from ~45 fps to ~25 fps. When I then uninstall the experimental version and install the development version again, all is OK, fps remain about the same.  (Same location, same settings, same flight plan, same time of day). Weird, uh? (No other add-ons active)

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

Ok you downloaded the Exp of FB/W and  you still did no show your  system specs.

1. try turning your specks down a little to fly a experimetal plane.

2. FBW is far from finished as far as performance.

3. may want to go back to development version until things are fixed.

4. give up and take a walk. always good for the human mind.

My system specs are not important in this case. These specs are the same under the experimental version and the development version. And yes, as I stated in my initial note, I went back tyo the development version. Thanks for your great advise, wise acre 🙂

I went back to dev version (problems with popup windows not working and also with a flight plan I cannot set correctly).

The MSFS team has posted an announcement confirming that they are aware of issues regarding Live Weather causing not only weather related issues, but potentially CTDs and low performance over time.

Forum post: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/current-issue-with-live-weather-and-associated-ctd-and-possibly-black-screen-on-xbox/486177

We advise you do flights with Live Weather set to OFF, and to configure that BEFORE loading your flight. Changing the setting during the flight seems to have less of an effect. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves. We recommend you also keep an eye on the MSFS Discord and Forum for further updates.

When experiencing this performance degradation with the experimental version of the A32NX, I had live weather already set to OFF. As mentioned before, the drastic drop in FPS occurred at the moment that I imported a Simbrief flightplan. (Just for your information). For the time being I will use the development version only.
