I'm assuming the paid Taxiways correct the gate numbers

I don't believe it does nor does it claim to. I'll double check next time I boot up the sim for you and report back.

In agreement. We need a youtube showing the differences. I'd say use KBOS as an example for USA and Heathrow for Europe

What I find is that it is the medium to small sized class C airports that are the most messed up, at least in the US.  The bigger airports are usually not terrible, at least they don't have major issues.  For smaller airports, I regularly see signs in the middle of the taxiway, 3d lights right in the middle, etc.  It really is quite an issue for those of us who hit those airports regularly.  That's likely where you'd see the biggest differences.  It is really hit or miss though too.  Many class C airports at least don't have objects on the taxiways, but then others are just a total mess.

(I don't own any of these products, been waiting for a sale on the US one).

14,000?

The danger of trying to type up a post before suficient coffee has been absorbed. It was meant to be 1400 but even that number was my brain mixing up the 1100 airports and 40 countries.

Sorry.
