The bigger airports are usually not terrible, at least they don't have major issues. For smaller airports, I regularly see signs in the middle of the taxiway, 3d lights right in the middle, etc. It really is quite an issue for those of us who hit those airports regularly. That's likely where you'd see the biggest differences. It is really hit or miss though too. Many class C airports at least don't have objects on the taxiways, but then others are just a total mess.
