PSX and AIG aircrafts and liveries

Recommended Posts

Thank you for this clear answer- it takes me further with a better understanding- we define the info content different thats all- (due to my lack of knowledge) but anyhow is the information there: the sum of aircraft type (in my case AT76) and callsign ( BRX305) should be enough to determine the corresponding aircraft/livery which is not the case now. I get China air- a twinjet instead....🤣

I have thoroughly checked the aircraft cfg´s and find no mistake´s from my side and the aircraft is present for my use in MSFS version 1.21.18.0 and your PSXT_MSFS 1.31.

After having briefed the callsign issue with Balthasar and he had updated the software we came to the conclusion that maybe the error lies in how PSX handle the icao´s in this case-

"Thats'a misundertanding I'm afraid. RealTraffic does not interpret airlinecodes. It has no notion of airlines , it only provides a callsign. It is PSXT that interprets the callsign by taking the first three letters as airline code (if followd by a digit). If it cannot detect an airline code it  may lookup the airline code based on the tail number (registration code) if that tail number is in dbase.xml. (section 4.12)"

If the aircraft type is determined- why is then the AT76 not selected-to start with? The actual tail number in my case is "SE-MKM" - which is also present in the data.xml under the right aircraft type....

I´ve now also checked the aircraft depth setting and the traffic above only occur with setting 8 (of course?) its a plane...how can I take this forward, feel I turned all stones now

By checking Log live matching, run a session with the BRX305, and to post your Log.txt here. Then I might be able to tell you what's wrong.

By the way, did you check the error messages in \error? Maybe your livery was not recognised for some reason.

I checked the aircraft.cfg files for the top error regrding the Asobo OE-LBU (Austrian):

You are looking in the wrong part of the file (a [FLTSIM.x} section. The error message tells about something is missing in the [General] section of the file...
However, this config file has no [General] section because it is a variation of a base container ( "..\FlyByWire_A320_NEO").

PSXT_MSFS does not know that base_container. I've added it to his internal list of base containers. So in version 30.2 it will be recognised.

I don't know why Microsoft made it so complicated in MSFS, compared to FSX/P3D...(sic).

If you have more Non Asobo base containers, let me know, then I'll add them too. See next post

Aha, now we are talking... You see , lots of errors, PSXT_MSFS has not found a single AT76 aircraft, that's why it matches in step 8 with another random middle type aircraft.

Are these liveries AI aircraft??????  They look flyable aircraft to me, that's why that base_container stuff.

EDIT: I recommend that you use  AIGM liveries only. Switch off Liveries scan automatic, and set a lfolder0 parameter to the top folder of your AIGM package.

Yes, they are all flyable aircrafts. The AIG pacage dont contain any AT76 thats why I want PSFX to scan for it among the flyable aircrafts, so could we solve the cpntainer issue for this I would be pleased, if this is how you mean?

I have tried to implement my to liveries above into this folder/config as FLIGHTSIM.1 and 2 but with no succes by moving content and texture folder.

Anyhow- can we arrange so PSXT read these two ATRs ?

so could we solve the cpntainer issue for this I would be pleased,

No, I'm sorry. PSXseeconTraffic does not work well with flyable aircraft. They cost too much cpu and gpu time to render.

AT76 is not the only type of aircraft that is missing in AIGM, you have to be patient, they will show up.

I have about 10.000 liveries for P3D, but it took me 6 years 😉

Btw, please use the spoiler if you post large blocks of text: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/609916-how-to-hide-contents-in-this-forum-spoiler/

What needs to be stripped from the flyable version to be accepted as ai by PSXT? I would like to test the my ATR with PSXT as it is one single aircraft and I am sure my computer setup can handle  it, remember my setup being at a domestic airport...there must be a temporary solution as we wait the AIG team to catch up.

Sorry about the blocks- same issue as the URL thing - my knowledge has limits. In other forum you just upload a picture without problem, like Discord.

I really have no idea, I'm not an expert in AI aircraft. I'll leave that to others, my time is limited 😉

I understand, you make a fantastic work, in particular in this forum. Short response time etc.

Now, I will just sit here and wait for a ATR 72-600 from AIG....one day perhaps

Dear Nico,

I have now a Dash 8 Q-400 as ai aircraft installed but PSX dont select that one as substitute for ATR 72-600 if I set aircraft live match depth to 7 ( same type= turboprop) Have I misunderstood something or is there an explanation. It still select a twinjet A320.

Are you sure that Dash type livery was recognised as livery? Did you check the errors?

Furthermore, same type is defined in dbase.xml. Look for similartypes to see the similars for AT76. I am not at home now, so i cannot check it myself.

I checked the error files:

"InvalidAircraftCfgfiles: three (3) lines complaining about the ATR livery SAS (1) and BRX (1) missing in General section Line icao_type_designator which is logcal as there are no such section in a livery addon (it is connecten to a model aircraft of ATR which has this section

Thrid line is about another aircraft not of interest here (J35)

IncompleteFltsimSection: empty icao_airline= all my addons as flyable aircraft dont have this fileed out, they are all Asobo/Aerosoft/FBW aircrafts- no Dash or ATR here

InvalidAirlinecodes: 35 lines with only Asobo aircraft 320 neo and one (1) AIGM-FAIB B737-700WL

Not clear over how you mean with this: "Furthermore, same type is defined in dbase.xml. Look for similartypes to see the similars for AT76. I am not at home now, so i cannot check it myself."

In data\dbase.xml there is a section about types followed by a section about similar types. Each line defines types that are interchangeable in the matching algorithms steps that search for a similar type.

For example (without the xml syntax):

B737,B738,B739
