ASP3D  Ver. 8042

Changelog: Open Beta Update – January 7, 2021

– [01/07/22] Added additional DLL version checking and warning when a mixed/invalid P3D installation with mixed components exists, which could cause multiple issues with P3D itself as well as add-ons

– [01/07/22] Fixed issue with Reset to Defaults button not properly resetting to default options in Settings screen

– [01/07/22] Fixed issue where precipitation (rain/snow) might not depict properly in P3D when ASP3D client not running and manual P3D weather themes/condition settings are used.

So everyone knows, if you rolled back to the 5.2 client due to the massive stuttering bug in P3D 5.3, HiFi confirmed the fixes in 8040 and 8042 will not be seen. The last stable build by HiFi, 7887, is the one I am stuck with until LM get their software issue sorted.

Not "everyone knows". 🙂

I'm not having any issues with 5.3 and 8040.  Unlike some folks I'm not having any issues with stutters at EFHK. I just found out about 8042 so I haven't installed it but will.

I have been flying P3d 10-12 hours a day since it was released without any issues.  For me 5.3 has been the best P3d so far. 🙂

I'm flying half a time you do 🙂 , but also I don't see performance issue that a lot of people report. For me this is the best performing version of p3d thus far. Thanks for the heads up for the new AS version.

Is 7887 best for 4.5 HF3 per our other thread as well?  Thanks Eric!

To clarify, there are SOME changes that are targeted at 5.3 which obvious won't be seen in earlier versions.  The visibility smoothing delay issue that some have been experiencing prior to 8040 are mainly specific to 5.3.  There are other changes in the recent builds that pertain to all versions as well.  To summarize, 5.3-specific changes and tuning are only available in 5.3 and not applicable to any earlier version.

Not Eric, but no, for 4.5, the latest build applies.  I believe there is a bit of confusion here related to different versions/builds and applicability.  The 5.3 specific changes we made are only specific to 5.3.  Other versions all have different interfaces.  If you are using 5.2, you may miss some recent changes we made that are specific to 5.3 and can't work with 5.2 for several reasons.  See changelog on our website for details.  We always recommend the latest official build or open beta build if you'd like to participate in beta testing.  Thanks.

Thank you as always...  Latest flight had incredible depiction on both ends!  The low Visibility at both ends was spot on and no instant transitions.

I have to admit EA now looks great I just hope the weather depiction on radar can be supported in the future (by LM)
