Lighting issue

Since installing 5.3 HF1+ I have a weird lighting issue.

If move or pan around, the lights appear to just go off. Please take a look at the following screenshots:
Taxiing at DD JFK lights are on:

That‘s a problem with older sceneries (pre-v5) and their dynamic lighting.
One solution is to set the values for max. point lights and max (can‘t remember the other name, but right below it) lights in the prepar3d.cfg to „1000“ each. This however will also tank the performance with dynamic lights, so you don‘t want to use anything higher than SSAAx2 at night.

I'm sorry, but that's not the issue. Look here at FlyTampa KBOS. I pan either outside or within the cockpit and the lights flash on and off. It's incredibly frustrating.

are you using custom inibuilds dl profiles? If you are maybe go back to supplied DL with the addons and see if it makes a difference. If you are using the DL that installed with the addons you may have to go ask the FT or DD guys in their forums. I definitely agree that something is not right.

This has only happened since installing the latest patch. I'd never noticed it before.

I've also noticed it happening at SimWings EGLL too. I don't have inibuilds profiles added. I can't believe it's a problem with all three seperate developers...?

Check at daylight, if all textures are always present when you look around. Maybe if textures go off and on, it has an effect on the lights.

I have sceneries, textures go on and off all the time even though I have enough VRAM. It seems something new in 5.3HF+, at least I didn´t notice that much in 5.2.

Just checked at Flightbeam KPHX and I get lights as seen here:

But then I pan slightly with the camera and this happens:

This has only started since installing 5.3HF+

It's clearly not a developer issue but a wider P3D issue.

Can anyone help?

Wish I could. I am not having this issue anywhere that you are seeing and have the same addons you have referenced so far. When I get home from work maybe i can share my settings with you to try if you like? Let me know.

Would a complete reinstall of content, scenery, client have any effect?

Unfortunately I am not expert enough to really say if that could work or not. Maybe next step is to try one of the developer support forums for FT or FB and see what they think? Mir has a pretty good support board over on FB so maybe try there. That is probably what I would try if I were in your shoes.

I don't think there's any point posting in the FlyTampa forum, they never respond to anything...
