Okay, so the options are indeed under controller. There's an option for head roll (which is new) but there's no option for moving your head forward/back or left/right, at least not that I can see. Neither does it work in game.

I know the option does exist as others on the official forums have been discussing it but not sure if you need to change a specific setting to get full 6dof.

That explains why I appeared some distance behind the rear seat in my Cessna when I firkled what that setting!

There is a solution posted by Tobii dev on MSFS forums: use F12 key. Tobii now works great with full 6DOF. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/tobii-position-slider-translational-dof-not-working-correctly/497310/3?u=ohmsquare

You probably need to have the keyboard settings set to 'Default' in Control Options to make it work.

Oh my word, it's wonderful! Thank you!

Couldn't resist to get one myself, arrived today.

Put it on top of my Saitek Radiopanel which itself sits on top of my Honeycomb Alpha:

Love it!

Ok guys. I'm on the verge of buying it. Could users of the Tobii5 in MSFS, with SU8 and the implementend functionality, share their experiences please? There is no a lot of user reviews yet.

Cheers, Rob

It’s not cheap that’s for sure, but for me the extra cost is worth not having to wear anything on my head.

I am currently using a free-ish head tracker with my phone, but want a dedicated system.

What are you using with the mobile ? I'm curious 🙂  And how good is it ?  6 DOF ?  Thx for any feedback 👍

I also got a Tobii and am returning it.  Made me dizzy and yeah - I tried to use it for hours and still felt the same way.  Just wasn't for me but I'm sure others could enjoy it.  It does work straight out of the box without too much fuss.  Customer service is very responsive as well.

I’m currently using the app called smooth track and my iPhone, a couple notes on it, I said free-ish cause the app is a purchased app but very cheap, I think I paid like 10 dollars, then you need to download the free program called open track on your pc (I think that’s what it’s called, the start icon is an octopus so you can find it easily)… once you have those installed (smooth track on your phone or tablet) and the other software on your computer it’s a matter of playing around with the curves to get it to your liking. Has 6dof capabilities and works really well for the minimal cost.

Another thing to note, your device that you will be using for the camera has to have an AR capable camera (i think that’s the terminology). I just happen to upgrade my phone a little while ago and had that capability, I’m using an iPhone 12. Also if you go this route, I’d suggest keeping your phone plugged in while using it cause it chews up the battery pretty quickly.

Using it is pretty simple once setup, place your phone in front of you, start up open track on your computer, then start up SmoothTrack, then get into msfs and it works just as it would like track ir…. I would keep using it but I like tinkering on my phone while flying, looking up stuff etc. so I want to go to a dedicated system that is a permanent fix.

There is a tutorial YouTube video from the developer of SmoothTrack which should be easy to find with a quick search!

Hope this helps,
Cheers!
