FACT: Actual moving trim wheel animation wasn't included because the Xbox can't handle the extra animation load... This isn't going to be fixed in an upcoming patch! Chris Camp
January 21, 20224 yr Its good PMDG didn't go down that road. So now airosoft dumbs down their addons to fit xbox, cant believe what im hearing... I'll unistall contrail now and wont support them with 1 cent anymore..

Not for nothing, but I've got an idea: fly the airplane! I know, I know, it's a wild and crazy notion. Watch real pilots fly the Twotter and tell me how often the AP is engaged. I've got God-knows how many hours in the Islander in MSFS, never touched the AP. They're honestly redundant systems in short-haul piston aircraft. I don't get this obsession with auropilots in a flight simulator, I really don't. You guys want everything as realistic as humanly possible, then get in the plane and do something no human pilot does. 🤷♂️ Edited January 21, 20224 yr by mtr75

Interesting interpretation of "fact" you have there. FACT: That was not a fact. That was hearsay. FACT: An Aerosoft developer claims they left the animation out because they were afraid it would cause performance issues on the XBox. Also FACT: The PMDG DC-6, a much more complex plane with no dearth of animations, is available on the Xbox and seems to manage it fine. Also FACT: There are now, just based on a quick scan of the marketplace, at least several dozen third-party planes available on the Xbox. HEARSAY: I cannot recall any of the other developers of those blaming "animation load" for a missing feature the way Aerosoft is. OPINION: The claim from Aerosoft is questionable -- it may be true, it may be an excuse, it may be halfway true, with there being a "better" way of doing things that Aerosoft have opted against for sake of convenience or speed. We don't know. Which is why it can't be asserted as fact. Also OPINION: This forum would be much better off without people extrapolating unsubstantiated claims into "fact" and using them for tiresome anti-Xbox axe-grinding. The people's flag is deepest red.

This isn't going to be fixed in an upcoming patch! Facts tend to have evidence to support them rather than just being assertions. At this point I'm not inclined to believe anything from MK on this topic without evidence to back it up. (For example his claims that the AP cant work correctly in order to remain compatible with XB compatible code are somewhat at odds with the evidence that the problem with the AP is caused by Aerosoft not changing the AP config values from the SDK defaults and nothing to do with any code) Edited January 21, 20224 yr by Matchstick
