OK cool thank you! I haven't seen the dials close up for myself yet (obviously) so wanted to check that one off the list of things to be concerned about. Any comments on the AP? I guess the sounds are OK, but need work, right? Thanks again for the screenshots!

I haven't tried all AP option except HDG, NAV and ALT. In those modes AP is ok, although I had an instance when AP blew passed dialed altitude. I tried to replicate this issue in another flight but it didn't happen again so far.

Note I don't use AP for approaches. I always fly them manually. So I don't know how other functionalities work.

How is the autopilot? Flying outbound on a VOR? Sounds, bad or not? Some people are saying the texturing on some dials is a little iffy. How does it interface with external hardware (knobs and switches etc.)?

I'm wanting to buy it, but I think I will stick with the Kodiak for now. I can't understand how some people seem to love it, but given all the issues I noted above I can't see it.

Kodiak is great, and if you can only afford one, that is a good one.

But I would also say the Twotter is great, just different.

I have no complaints at all about the textures. They are fantastic IMHO inside and out. The prop animations are not great, but I don't spend much time looking at props anyway, and I bet this will be improved.

The AP works as well as any Garmin 530 KAP140  does in the sim. I have had it fly for me for hours and do the initial approach stages w/o any problems. I like hand flying approaches best anyway. I have had the AP take me down to 200' on an ILS in KPWM and it was right on, probably better than I can do.

Sounds are fine for me. And the external Knobster and other encoders work fine as does the touchscreen interface in AirManager.

For me it isn't a matter of affording it, it is a matter of do I reward bad behavior lol!

From what you guys have said the only real issues are the prop animation and the sound (to an extent). I guess I might just say what the heck and go for it then.

Thanks again fellas.

I just can't believe what MK is saying!  The trim wheels don't move because the animation is too intensive and would affect xbox?!
Your flying a plane across a landscape, maybe in 4k, but the trim wheel animation will bring the frame rate down?

He then goes on to say the doors don't open on the default MSFS aircraft for a reason, as xbox wouldn't cope with the animation.
Well how about the 3P aircraft sold on the marketplace for xbox - their doors open don't they?  Is this a joke?  Is it a fact? or is is just typical MK?

Yup, you can see the direction they are going in. Ah well more room for those devs that try to create the very best experiance. Ok it costs more, but i'd rather have that than aircraft now being dumbed down to fit Xbox.

Kok has spoken.

It does seem ridiculous. I wonder how PMDG are going to cope with the 737. If this is an issue I think we need an 'XBOX version' and 'PC version' as two separate releases.

Freaking xbox...

I'm testing the 3rd update to the sounds today as I type this.   The team is working on it I can ASSURE you guys!

I personally love this plane....beta tester aside, this was a day one purchase for me.  I've had the opportunity to fly her into some bucket list airports over the months that you see this plane fly into on the many youtube vids out there.

This one comes to mind....

AS does this this one:

Wait till you guys fly the amphib, land her in water, taxi up to a boat ramp, drop the wheels and taxi her up the ramp, hehe.  Just one of many models included.  Will do some Maldives flights soon for sure, and some Harbor Air routes when that paint comes out.  You can fly this plane....anywhere.

Sorry none of this makes up for the fact I dont buy planes to just fly them into a bucket list of Airports, especially when the airplane is mildly realistic and with dumbed down animations to work on a console.

You can start the plane with the fuel pumps off... Awful release for me, but glad you are happy! I bought day 1 to btw...Wont be buying any MSFS planes day 1 from now on.

if the Twiotter is more memory intensive than the DC6 I can only assume that theie coders have no idea how to optimize or its the most inefficient visual model in the history of flight sims.

Or perhaps this is a direct consequence of just slapping in unmodified default systems rather than taking the time to tune and optimize them for your specific use ?

@RICHUK

I have had the complete opposite experience. I can't engage the autopilot in climb without the aircraft pitching down, when it eventually recovers it eventually shoots through the selected altitude even though it engages ALT mode. Then in descent, all can seem to be going well and then it will plummet. 99% sure not user error, been doing these things for 20 years etc etc. I know a friend has had the exact same experience.

So you wont be buying PMDG 737 and A2A Cherokee also? OK.

I have this two happening intermittently. I've similar behavior in default airplanes before. I think it has something to do with what airspeed when autopilot is engaged. It looks like an old bug

The descent issue may be related to airspeed. The AP appears to lacks the control authority to manage aircraft pitch below about 115kts.
