Problems starting engnes on Phenom 300

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but whilst the engines spool up to 24.7 N2 advancing the throttles does nothing. N1% shows 7.4 with OFF against them both.

What have I missed?

A reinstall after applying the P3Dv5 fix appears to have solved the problems. Selecting a default aircraft with engines running and then switching to the 300 now has engines running and the internal walls of the cockpit and cabin are now visible.

Still a bit of a learning curve.

Hi Ray,

I hope by now you have things figured out regarding this aircraft's start up procedure. Unfortunately, Carenado is pretty sparse on aircraft documentation and cockpit procedures.

What I do is like you-I initially go to a default a\c (F-35) then once at selected airport scenario I select the Phenom 300. I have the aircraft cockpit "alive" (powered up) but engines not running.

Right below the Landing Gear Handle is the "Engine Fire Extinguisher" panel. Below that panel is the "Engine Startup". With my mouse pointer on the left engine start up knob, I use the "Mouse Wheel" to turn the engine start knob to "Start". I am assuming the complete engine start sequence is computerized as there is no need to move one's throttle lever from Idle Cutoff to 10% throttle such as the Learjet. Once the engine is lit up then I do the same for the right engine. At my destination & completely parked, then all I do is turn the engine start knobs to "Stop" in order to turn off the engines.

Hope you are able to enjoy this aircraft,

Raymie

I use the old CTRL+E key stroke to start her up.

Gents, thanks for your replies. The problem was down to a faulty install manifesting itself with no skin on the inside of the aircraft as well as the engine problem.

Running the setup.exe again fixed that problem and I’m able to start the engines. I am surprised there isn’t a reverse thrust. Very odd for a business jet.
