I pretty sure that means Hard Mute was enabled.

When hard mute is enabled there is a yellow background.

Are you using "open mic" or "push to talk key"?, try sending a screenshot of your PBE's settings dialog to see the options marked.

Using open mic. Will try to send a screenshot of settings page.

I should mention that the FBW A320 Project has the same red line through the mic although it is working fine.
