Simbrief sends me quite low towards Seattle

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have an ocean crossing question. I wanted to prepare a flight to Seattle from Schiphol. Looking at the real flights, they fly high (north), over Greenland and over.

However, Simbrief sends me lower, over the normal NAT's. is this all due to wind etc? Or is it a shortcoming of simbrief?

cheers

Victor

In this case I think Simbrief takes stepclimbs into account. The altitude in the flightplan is probably the initial altitude.

Probably indeed has to do with the NAT's. These are determined every day depending on the wind.

That seems very normal. I've made quite a few trips between Amsterdam and Chicago or Minneapolis and we always fly over the southern tip of Greenland.

yeah, but Simbreif didn't giv this option, even though IRL they fly a lot higher, indeed over Greenland
