Anyone use this in VR yet?  How's the experience?  Does the mouse cursor "hover" above the screen like with the PMS version?

Also, as it pertains to the navdata...am I missing something, or is this not really a big deal?  Sure, Navigraph support won't ever be included in the package, but the navdata of Garmin and Jeppesen is more or less the same, right?  Point is, using Navigraph in sim panel, or stand alone app in conjunction with the TDS, will be fine 99% of the time.

As an irl pilot and air traffic guy - I thought the updated data was so important but when I really looked through the new airacs cycles, there just isn't a whole lot of substance...mostly changing numbers to sids/stars etc.  Occasionally a new fix is named or procedures add removed.  As with any waypoints you'd plug into an fms or GTN you'll want to brief them against the chart anyway irl.

If updated navdata is of the utmost importance people can always use PMS version...you just don't get all the real world features which I prefer to replicate.

1) what about aircraft that currently don't support VC panel integration? does this TDS instrument also work stand alone,

2) and in VR, like PMS?

3) I read it won't work if you have the WorkingTitle NXI installed. does it mean you have to disable/re-enable the NXi incontent manager everytime you want to go back and forth between NXI and TDS supported aircraft?

4) is this TDS also sold by Flight1 or any other store?

5) can you run TDS on a separate pc connected via network?

6) can you can zoom in/out via external devices like Saitek panels and AxisAndOhs instead of mouse?

7) you don't need a Navigraph chart subscription (which it doesn't use anyway) because it comes with all charts already supplied by Garmin?

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

So it has to be run as a separate exe? Not integrated in the sim?

1) runs standalone if no cockpit integration available

2)works in VR if in cockpit

3)no - the only time you have to disable G1000 NXi is if you're running the TDS gtn within a g1000 panel - which is really weird to me...but a small amount of people apparently do this

4)no

5)I think you can run it on a separate monitor or tablet (touch etc) if using space desk etc.  Not sure about another PC

6)not sure

7)it comes with mid 2021 navdata.

The G1000 MFD replacement option does not work with the WT G1000NXi, but as you can see in the above, this may not be the preferred way to go anyway.  For me personally, I use the TDS unit in the Turbo Arrow, the WT G1000NXi in the G36 Bonanza and the Kodiak, and PMS50 GTN in my Carenado Seminole/Mooney/C337.  This all works seamlessly together.

It starts up automatically when you start MSFS and runs in the background.  Very smooth performance BTW..

I was asking for charts specifically, not just navdata. I had seen a chart insert in a youtube, thats why I was wondering if all charts worldwide are included.

"2)works in VR if in cockpit "

so in other words it does NOT currently run in VR except for the very few panel-integrated airplanes, like NOT working in Carenado Seneca for example, neither stand alone nor panel-mount?

North American charts only.  Navdata including safe taxi is worldwide.

I was asking because I remember WorkingTitle saying there could be problems if other panel modifications were installed. So in other words I can keep the NXi installed and use the NXi while flying the C172G1000, and switch to a TDS-panel supported plane without having to remove the NXi every time from content manager, right?

Think or can it be used as a "Popup" gauge?

Correct.

It actually can be run completely outside of the sim.  It runs as a separate UI that I can place on my RSG GTN 750 via the HDMI display it has and then map the controls of the buttons and knobs to the same sim events that we have used in the past with the GTN products...  MSFS deprecated the use of the old GPS events but they did not remove any of it from the SDK...  Well it works fine with the TDS.

How does it work seamlessly if on the website it says this

Default G1000 MFD Replacement
Only works with the default G1000, not the WT G1000NXi mod

Currently the TDS GTNXi will replace the entire G1000 MFD, including the engine gauges. If this is a problem, we suggest running the standalone executable window and not installing the G1000 MFD replacement mods.

I'll be honest I really love the WT G1000 and I have extensive GTN750 experience with both FSX and P3D, I think the only thing the GTN has is the fact its touch screen and makes it easier to enter info instead of the annoying scroll wheel functionality of the G1000.

So my question is how does the GTN conflict with the WT G1000?  Can they co-exist?  I'm confused about this bit...  🙂

It’s quite simple. If you have an aircraft with TDS VC integration it will install, load and function independent of whatever other GPS you have installed. Bert explains it very well. Read or reread one of his comments on this topic. I have exactly the same aircraft as he does and I use them exactly like him,

if you DONT have an aircraft with native integration (just flight Pipers) you can still use the TDS integrated in your VC as it can replace the STANDARD g1000 (not g1000nxi) with a simple mod to your community folder.

if none of these options work for you, run it as a standalone and alt-tab the GTN-750/650 nxi into view as needed.

No lie. Honest!!!
