February 19, 20224 yr Western US AFB Tour – Part 1 We will depart from Edwards AFB for a tour of various USAF bases in the western US. We will not visit all of the bases in today’s flight. We can resume the tour at the point at which we stop at a future date. Bases include: KEDW Edwards AFB (1) KTNX Tonopah Test Range Airport (2) KLSV Nellis AFB (3) KLUF Luke AFB (4) KDMA Davis Monthan AFB (5) KHMN Holloman AFB (6) KABQ Albuquerque - Kirtland Air Force Base (7) KCOS Peterson Space Force Base (8) KHIF Hill AFB (9) KMUO Mountain Home AFB KBAB Beale AFB KVBG Vandenberg AFB KPMD Palmdale USAF Plant 42 The FLIGHTPLAN includes an additional file “US_AFB.ln3” which can be loaded in the SSW TF104-G inertial navigation system to facilitate wayfinding. Aircraft This tour was planned for military jets. I plan to fly the SSW TF104-G in Air Force Test Center Edwards livery. The long distances between landings will require a fast aircraft but not necessarily require supersonic flight. The default F-18 will work and so will the Hawk although it will be a little slower. As always you are free to fly what you like.
