Easiest is to have a vanilla P3D45 installled, just for these things. Of course you can also manipulate registry, create false P3D4 directories etc, but I think it is much easier to just have a small v4 installed, if you have a licence. I actually don't know, how ORBX central does testing for an existing P3D version.

I have the registry entry for v4 and that alone isn't working. Maybe reinstalling v4 or at least having an empty file structure would be the way to go then.

Could be looking for the exe.

Easy way to test is to create the P3D folder path, drop a text file in and rename the text file to prepar3d.exe (making sure Windows display file extenions is enabled).

I often do such on my own installer builds, e.g. read the registry for the path and then confirm by looking for a named exe.
