Hi Roland,

if you use the your included program wsay, you can find out your usable TTS voices.
Type 'wsay -l', than you get a list with ID and voice.

Best Regards

Sepp

Thanks for the tip.

I knew it, but forgot 🙂

Made the change to 1=Lua RAAS and now auto works as expected.  🙂

I've updated to the latest paid version, used this and still cannot get it to work.  My question is when I go to select it the only thing I see is "LUAKLLALL"  Now I'm pretty much computer illiterate but that to me appears to literally kill all lua entries. Am I missing something?  I have been trying to get this program to work for a week now.  I've entered this setting every way that has been suggested in this forum but still can't get it to show up.  I've double and triple checked my settings and procedure of setting this up but just can't get it to work.  Can someone help?  Thanks.

Where is installed your FSUIPC7?

If your unique entry in the list starting by "lua" is LuaKillAll, it means that RAAS.lua file is NOT in the same directory that your FSUIPC7.exe.

Here is the list I have:

FSUIPC7 is installed on my C drive.  I don't understand as I put the file in the FSUIPC7.ini file along with the r4.csv file and the wsay.exe file like the instructions say.  The LuaKillAll file is the only one in FSUIPC7.  Sorry for the hassle and I really appreciate your help.

What is the exact directory path?

What does this means? You have to copy RAAS.lua file inside your FSUIPC7 path.

Please take a screenshot of the whole content of your FSUIPC7 directory, and put it here.

This PC > Windows(C:) > FSUIPC7

Don' know how to post my screen shot.

BTW I did copy and paste the file inside FSUIPC7

Ok, I take a screenshot of mine, please double check that you have the same files in C:\FSUIPC7\, or tell me all the differences you see with your files

I highlighted RAAS.lua as you can see

Ok.  For the 5th time, I deleted all files involved, went back and started over again, and finally this time it worked.  The Lua RAAS file is now showing so I can now bind my button.  Sorry about the hassle again, and I really appreciate your help.  Thanks so much.

Roland, I'm having some trouble with the audio.  I know I have SAPI voices as I use David in Pilot2ATC.  In MSFS is there a certain setting I should be on in the Sound Option?  I can hear the 500 foot call out when on final approach.  I have the Honeycomb yoke and have set a button to toggle it on and off.  Not sure what to do..One thing I have noticed, when I assigned a button from the Honeycomb yoke prior to selecting an aircraft, and in FSUIPC7 said Joy# C Button#1.I kept the FSUIPC7 window open and after selecting the airplane and ready to go I pushed the button to initiate the program and the boxes said Joy# D and Button#132.  So it appears to change settings.  I'm sure that's part of the problem. But I don't know how to fix it.

C and D are different devices - take a look at your FSUIPC7,ini to see what device those letters are mapped to. It is not possible for a device to change letters (or a button to change numbers), so something else must be going on. If you want me to look at this, please post in the FSUIPC7 support forum, and attach your FSUIPC7.ini and FSUIPC7.log files.

This message is not issued by RAAS.

I think you mix different subjects and problems. I suggest that you test RAAS following this simple protocol, which is a set and forget and see how it works. Set and forget means you don't want anymore to start manually RAAS using a button.

  • Open FSUIPC.ini for editing in notepad.exe
  • Search the [Auto] section, create it at the end of file if it does not exist yet
  • Add right below [Auto] 1= lua RAAS

you must now have this:

[Auto]
1=lua RAAS
  • Save FSUIPC.ini and close notepad
  • Start MSFS and FSUIPC
  • Prepare a flight with the Cessna 152, place your departure on your wished airport, at a GA parking point (not on the runway)
  • Switch Battery ON => after a couple of seconds you hear "RAAS version 3.6, system test OK"
  • Start your engine and taxi as usual to join the runway entry point => near the entry point you hear "Approaching runway ..."
  • Align the runway to prepare take off and stop taxi => you hear "Runway ..., xxx feet available"

Tell us if this scenario is working

Roland, I followed your procedure as you have it laid out.  The 1=lua RAAS was there when I opened the FSUIPC.ini.  So I followed the checklist you gave me as stated but when I turn on the battery I hear nothing.
