on topic - i think i might buy this if there is a corporate interior version, but i suspect there isn't?

One Ironic thing about this release is that looks like its going to drop just as the Queen's flight  (god bless her) is just about to stop using them

Is the Queens flight (god bless her) version getting modelled I wonder?, that one should have a pretty up-market interior (Though gaining access to take some pics might be a problem)

It is more a matter of expectations. None of the regular viewers came in with the expectations to see a 12 min show and that would be it. For me it is more like talk radio. You get to catch up on the latest news and you get to meet the guys you fly with on a regular basis. The first part is usually just to set the tone for the day and to give people time to tune in. I am pretty sure there hasn't been a day where Fabio has taken of within the first hour of starting the stream. And that is totally fine.

I get it is not for everyone, but to come and complain on the format seems weird. Remember that a youtuber makes all of his money after he has recorded, edited and published the video. A streamer pretty much makes all the money during the show. So clearly the format needs to be different.

Note that I said I'm not questioning why the streamer does it, I get that. It's the fact this finds huge audiences that spend hours not really interacting in any meaningful way with the streamer other than occasional remarks in the chat (while 90% of it is overlooked by the streamer anyway) while nothing happens for an hour or more. I'm not saying that's wrong, I just don't get why I would want to spend my time like that.

But then again this is perfectly fine considering the fact there are hundreds of people that pay streamers to sell farts in glasses. 🤣

watching a middle aged dude play computer games in his spare room is a million miles away from watching elite sportsmen do their thing

i do admire these guys for making a living out of this - i don't know how many times you can thank people and still sound sincere

If my memory is correct, Fabio is a CFI.  During his stream, you can ask him questions in the chat.  I have asked a lot of questions about flying in real life, and a lot of technical questions too about flying, and he has answered them.  Plus, it’s fun to interact with the chat because the chat is full of other flight sim enthusiasts.

This is a great way to have fun watching a stream and learn in the process. Yes, I can also watch a recorded YouTube video and learn too, but that isn’t interactive, the pilot of the YouTube video is not there in realtime to answer my questions, and there isn’t a live chat where I can also socialise with other flight sim enthusiasts.

Mind you, it’s completely free to do all this.  You don’t have to pay Fabio a cent. Some people though, enjoy his content so they like to donate to him or buy a subscription to support him putting out his content.

To top it off, among real life pilots, Fabio is the #1 streamer in the flight simulation category in terms of viewer numbers.  I think among real life pilots, only Blackbox comes comes close to Fabio’s numbers. As Fabio is a CFI, Fabio also does a lot of educational streams on various topics on real life flying and procedures (ie. holds, checklists, airspace classes, etc).  A lot of viewers find Fabio’s content to be educational (and fun), and that’s why he gets the viewers he is getting.

We live in modern times!😃

I am also new to the twitch streaming thing but Fabio and others usually post the stream to YouTube after the event so you can fast forward the dry parts.
His twitch channel also has a recorded version which includes the chat that you can also fast forward.

I find Fabio very entertaining and very knowledgeable, a very likable person.

Cant wait for more content by him about this jet, only bad thing is my loved DC-6 might get mad at me for lack of attention when this jet releases. 😁

Fabio aside now Gents (and Gals if participating).

I have always been a hardcore GA fan and I can count on one hand how many times I have loaded up a commercial jet in the sim. Always loving the older/classical stuff, thinking about diving into the BAe 146. I do not need high end study level stuff to get into the air. Would this be a good entry level a/c to feel the experience as an introduction to commercial jets (thinking on the flight dynamics and characteristics)?

Another plus for this plane is since I only fly in VR, It should be easier to see most of the flight displays without zooming in all the time.

I have the CRJ but the MFD and PFD are so small that I stopped flying it, just too frustrating.

I love the DC6 for this reason, no glass so it is a pleasure to fly in VR without zooming.

This aircraft offers a lot of complexity if you want it but the tablet allows you to set various states so you can configure it as cold and dark, ready for startup or ready for take off. As for flight characteristics, It is easy enough to fly but still very engaging. I'm similar to you in that I have more of a preference for GA aircraft but I love the 146.

I personally think it is a great option for your scenario.

It probably won’t be the easiest airliner to fly of the bunch coming out (least amount of automation) but it will certainly be a lot of fun.

The less automation the better as far as I'm concerned.

Like all Twitches I think, you can now watch the reply. I never watch live, just wait 4 hours so I have control to fast forward thru the boring stuff.

Thanks guys!

@regis9 On the other side of the scale, what a/c will have the most automation? Are you referring to automation for navigation (SIDS, STARS, flight plans etc) or for flying the a/c (V speeds, speed brakes, auto throttle etc) or both?
