Here is exactly what I would do. Having done it in the past, it took time but the MS reps whom I was in direct contact sorted it all out.

Windows Update FAQ (never mind this FAQ page is about Win Update and not MSFS, that does not matter), the link below should work, if not just search on 'Windows Update FAQ'.

Now click 'Open the app' on that page (Not finding what you need? Try the Get Help app! Open the app)

click Open the app

click Contact Support

on Products and services choose Xbox

choose confirm

click 'click here to get more help with Xbox'

click Contact us

for 'select an option' click Games & apps

choose I have an issue updating an app

chose Xbox Series X

go to 'request a call sing-in required' or start chat (through an external partner)

(this is just an example, the online choices are large  in the menu system but the idea is to get to a chat or person on the phone at MS).

They have always solved all my MS problems that way, sometimes it took an hour.

I was surprised that a huge company has agents to chat and talk with, but about once or twice a year for 10 years I have used this service to fix Microsoft problems by using this help site. They always fixed things up.

The MS help desk chat and phone was always free, I paid no charge for their help.

It can happen due to a rare Bubba cannabis strain.
