It does not show up as an update. You need to go to marketplace and "buy" it for free, then go to content manager and install it.
March 22, 20224 yr You Australian's got strange way of talking. I would like to Buy my Nanna's pizza shop for free 🤣
March 22, 20224 yr Author I very much appreciate the answers thus far. However, I've just discovered that my internet speed is very slow, in the single digits mbps. Spectrum is normally much faster than that around here, at least 50 mbps. My router is three years old, the modem much older. So, I've ordered a new modem/router combo which should be arriving tomorrow. I'll install those and then see how it works. If all's ok, I'll update the scenery files as recommended, but no sense doing any of that until I get a good internet speed. Will keep everyone updated; thanks again for your help.
March 22, 20224 yr That could definitely explain things. My internet service is intermittently awful, and MSFS suffers quite a bit when it drops down to dialup speeds. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
March 24, 20224 yr Author New router and modem installed today, increasing mbps from 10 to almost 200. I loaded the U.S. update and also the Bell 47 update. Big difference, scenery in D.C. is much better including Washington Monument looking like it should and a dome on the U.S. Capitol! I even landed the Bell 47 on the south lawn of the White House, and there we ran into some unauthenticity in that (1) The SS didn't run out to arrest me, and (2) the lawn was badly overgrown, right over the skids. 🙂 I'm getting the hang of the Bell 47 (which is one of my favorite aircraft, fixed wing or otherwise) and after the update it's nice not to see the pilot doing high-speed karate chops to the cyclic. Oh yeah, boot-up is now much quicker, although I'm still having to wait through the Australia update. I'm having fun again. 🙂
March 24, 20224 yr Good to hear you're all sorted now, and even better to hear you're getting into the Bell 47. I took it out tonight after a long time in the hangar (been flying the R44 and H125 lately for the extra speed and the GTN750 support) but I fancied a bit of slow city sightseeing and opted for the Bell and instantly fell in love with it all over again! It really is up there with my favorite sim helis of all time. Fantastic little bird 🙂 Happy sightseeing!
March 24, 20224 yr Author RE the Bell 47: Not being a youngster, I remember Chuck and P.T. in the TV series "Whirlybirds" which was my absolute favorite. After watching the show I'd sit on a short stool working the imaginary cyclic and collective performing all sorts of aerial miracles. Needless to say, I've had a thing for the Bell 47 ever since. A couple of times over the years I've had the opportunity to take a ride in one and there's nothing quite like flying around in that big plastic bubble--visibility is fabulous to say the least. For you "youngsters," there are episodes of "Whirlybirds" on Youtube--I highly recommend them. 🙂

Quite possibly the most exposure the 47 got here in the U.S. Quite the versatile machine as are all Whirlybirds. We all know Igor Sikorsky's famous line about helos, but I personally like this one the best: “If you are in trouble anywhere in the world, an airplane can fly over and drop flowers, but a helicopter can land and save your life.” (or in the case below...hover and drop a line to you...but this pic actually shows us slinging a load of supplies) I worked on one of his company's creations for 11 years in the Navy Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
March 24, 20224 yr "Whirlybirds" was a regular summer holiday offering in the UK back in the day (even though it was decades old), and of course M*A*SH* was huge here too, so the Bell 47 was a regular on British screens. Those probably did as much for its exposure to the masses as Apocalypse Now did for the Huey.🚁 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
