Revised stock Oil Rig

Recommended Posts

Good evening, here are some pics of the stock  missionobjects.bgl Oil rig which i have revised a tad,

It was lacking any real lighting and the textures in some areas where quite low res,

After receiving feedback for my oil rig scenery package I did for a few off shore rig pilots for their full size simulator

Ive updated some textures and added some lights as it was horrible to try and land during low light

I hope to upload it soon, so anyone who uses any oil rig scenery that uses this stock model. will see the change and be able to find the rig land quite easily after dusk

That looks great, thanks a lot. Did you improve other default objects too?

Have to ask, was this "mission" for P3D V5? Didn't see one for V5 nor V4  How do I install it?

Compliments Jeansy nice bit of work - works fine in P3DV5.3. Liked the moving cranes and burn flare effects!

Does that include "jeansy_2016_AUS_Oil_Rigs.bgl" from OZx ?

I ask because I installed the revised stock oil rig and the jeansy_2016_AUS_Oil_Rigs.bgl (from OZx) and the night lighting is looking a little on the emmisive side in my P3D 4.5.

Am I seeing the updated models etc. ?

Cheers

It appears the effect files have a significant different effect in v4.5  than v5.3

I originally did this in v4 but never posted it anywhere, I will try and hunt down the fx files I originally created and I will post them in this thread. I have a 65hr week ahead of me,.my first chance will be next Saturday night 30th I think. I will hunt down and install v4 on and revisit the fx files and model for you

No mission just a update to the stock scenery library

It was done for a group of off shore helo pilots with some custom scenery for their simpit for instrument flying to the actual rigs I will post some pics of the other rigs, if people want them I can share them too
