I want to fly! (I have to find the plane first...)

Featured Replies

Sorry, just a little 'venting'. After two years, is it possible that they still haven't included the possibility of selecting favourite planes/liveries? Especially when you start to have enough planes, with particular liveries implementing different configurations (as for example in the case of the new Cessna 414AW), it becomes annoying to search for the right livery/airplane. Not to mention all the default aircraft that I will never fly and only contribute to background noise. I think it's a minimum requirement for 'cleanliness'.

Hi Igor,

have you tried the Addons Linker package (below)? That'll allow you to load only those addon aircraft and liveries that you want for a session. As to the unused default aircraftl, you should be able to uninstall them via the Content Manager from your Profile at the initial menu.

But yes, it would be nice to have a filtering function in-game

cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the tip.I was not aware of this utility, although it is preferable to have such functionality built into the simulator. I will definitely try it out.

p.s. Regarding uninstalling planes from the content manager, I've read that many users have experienced stability issues and CDTs after doing so.

You might submit a Wishlist item for this and see if others are in favor of it and will vote to prioritize it.  https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/self-service/wishlist/163

I just uninstalled all the planes I don't use from the content manager, which is almost every one, and have had no problems at all.

Have you closed MSFS and reopened it since?

At least a dozen times. The only default aircraft I didn't delete was the C 172, everything else is gone.

Hello,

I don't remember exactly what happened but remember when those MS Flight Simulator liveries were automatically installed I wanted to get rid of them so selected and deleted them, then when I reopened MSFS there was a mandatory install and it reinstalled them!

I only used the content manager to uninstall them, never deleted anything else.

I have also deleted a/c and liveries I never fly. Doing this since quite a while and have seen no problems so far. But I agree with the OP, why doesn't MS/Asobo give us the opportunity of defining favorites?

Well, thanks for the suggestion. I've uninstalled aircrafts and liveries that I don't use (almost all of them...) and everything seems to work fine. Among other things, the advantage is that it saves quite a bit of disk space.
