I have to spend my money carefully. And so I only buy planes I am sure I will fly and love for months and months. So far I only bought ONE plane for MSFS, the Kodiak 100. So that's why I defenitely will NOT get both. To me extra's like the owned mode are very, very, very interesting so I probably will wait for the 310 (but even that one I won't buy until I've read and seen some good reviews!). There is nothing wrong with that. There is also the ability to fly several planes versus the desire for one. Some people have no problem jumping from plane to plane and find enjoyment in that. They don't feel that they wasted money or may feel that the money they've spent is part of their budget for entertainment. Some others (me included), prefer to settle into one main plane and get their enjoyment from that. If you buy two different planes and you have settled into only flying one of them (you get more enjoyment out of that one), then you might feel you wasted money on the other one that you didn't need too. You don't have to guilt trip any of us for talking about wanting both. Plus, that is nobody's business how much money we make or what hobbies we enjoy. I work in healthcare and the last few years have been terrible so I'd like to think of myself as buying a plane a reward for me difficult work. Happy now? I guess the rest of us can't enjoy both planes now. If your on FSE the 414 is very profitable Bingo! I don’t have the 414 yet but figured it would be fantastic for FSE. Should give the Kodiak a run for its money. I may end up with both, but just for speed with a cruise of 250 or so, the 414 gives me a plane in a different class than my Kodiak or turbo Arrow. So I’m looking closely as the 414 progresses. All that said, the 310 is my kind of plane no doubt. Will probably have both in the end…until the next wave of GA planes are announced.
April 6, 20224 yr Help me understand something, looking at the title of this thread how can we do a comparison of aircraft when one isn't even out yet? 🥴 Is there another beta I missed? I commented in this thread last Monday then I thought about it just now after seeing the thread again today and thought I'd ask. I think the OP wanted advice on whether it would be worth to wait for the 310 and then make the decision or not. I would say the answer is waiting. To quote Milviz from another thread about the Porter: "the 310 is almost done". Other than that you are right: only (closed) beta testers for the 310 would be able to make a comparison, and only if they also have the 414. I don't. Peter

It's quite odd that you turn this into "he wants to make me feel guilty". For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

It's useful to hear what pilots set as their priorities when selecting one of these planes. For myself I only plan to buy 1 at least initially. The Youtubes do a good job and give off great first impressions. ns Edited April 6, 20224 yr by bean_sprout AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE CPU - ZOTAC RTX 3060Ti GPU - NZXT H510i ELITE CASE - EVO M.2 970 500GB DRIVE - 32GB XTREEM 4000 MEM - XPG GOLD 80+ 650 WATT PS - NZXT 280 HYBRID COOLER

Am I going to hear more comments from people that they can or can't afford (or don't want to spend money) on their hobbies etc? I hope not. If someone wants to buy both, then great. If they can't or are unable then, well, I am sorry. Phantoms said it better than me. Sorry if people feel offended or something but lets stay on topic. Anywho.... Both planes have their perks, challenges. But we will see when the 310 is released. Even the fully released planes have had issues. Every single one, really. Lately, I have been really enjoying the GA. Usually my favorites have been the CRJ900-1000 and DC-6 but I keep coming back to the smaller GA planes. The Kodiak is definitely up there but there are few kinks to work out. Either way.,, Between the two you'd have to ask yourself......want to go a little higher with pressurized cabin or stay a little lower? They both will be amazing planes to fly so if you really had to choose between the two then I'd wait for several weeks. The 414 is already amazing even right after its beta release. So, maybe wait a long while and for video reviews of the 310 a few weeks after its release. So that way you'd know which one you'd want. By then, the 414 will likely be full price which (I think) is 50 us dollars last time I checked. For me, I really enjoy IntoTheBlueSimulations or Q8Pilot. AvAngel is also good but also seems to really love most of the planes hahaha.
