Update: Things to Look Forward To

Recommended Posts

A few months ago I posted a list of all of the exciting upcoming projects and a "best guess" ETA. Decided to go back and do a quick update. Here's the timing and status of all of the major releases that I'm aware of:

Things on the original "looking forward to" list that have since been released:

- Sim Updates 6, 7, and 8

- Content Update: Reno Air Racing

- World Update 7 [Australia]

- World Update 8 [Iberia]

- Wing 42 Boeing 247

- DC Designs Concorde

- SWS Kodiak [wasn't on the original list, but it's still awesome]

Things on the original list that are likely to be released in Q2 of this year:

- Fenix A320 [currently in beta]

- PMDG 737 [currently in beta]

- MG HondaJet [currently in beta]

- Sim Update 9  [CFD Flight Model]

- Sim Update 10 [DirectX 12 Update]

- Content Update: Top Gun

- World Update 9

Things that are likely to be released sometime this year:

- PMDG 777 (I think they are working on it concurrently with the 737?)

- Miilvitz ATR

- Asobo ATR 42-600 [Original timing was mid-2022]

Things that are at least possible this year:

- Sim Update: Helicopters

- Sim Update: Career Mode [almost certainly currently under development at Asobo]

- FlyByWire A380

Are there any other interesting projects that should be on our collective radar this year?

I'm just sitting here waiting for seasons...

I stopped waiting and bought Rex.

Apart from the snow on the runway issue i now consider the seasons stuff resolved... for me at least

Im looking forward to the Maddog which is in Beta and the Synaptic A220 .. if that is still being worked on..

The aircraft that i really want to fly in this sim A330 and A350 i dont have much faith in the developers .. so .. i guess ill have to hope someone steps in with a 787-8 and 9

- As much SDK/Simconnect support as possible (in my case homecockpit)

- improved clouds

- DX 12

- improved and better looking car traffic with a more realistic speed and nice looking head/taillights

Milviz Beaver. Probably a bit optimistic for 2022 though.

Incorporation of working title flight management system (avionics framework?) into other avionics (beyond NXi) and world map flight planning.

Well you forgot the Maddog and the 146, which should be top-notch study level airliners. And I'm quite sure the 777 won't be released this year, in any case it's not "likely". I'll be more than happy, if the 737 releases in summer and does not get delayed again by an inconsiderate sim update.
Where did you hear of a career mode? First time I heard that.
