V5.3 stutters when AI Traffic starts

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have many AI flight plans, i found that when "flying" and some AI flight plans become active P3d starts stutters for a couple of seconds.

My entire P3d and addons are on a SSD.

How to control this behavior?

If possible..

Thanks in advance

It's been that way since FS inception. Back in the olden days one couldnt hardly use AI. Takes alot of CPU and GPU power to initialize /load the AI aircraft. Once loaded it's fine.

The sim is getting probably hundreds of AI aircraft dropped into it (unless you are using UTL or Traffic Global, then it's a fraction of that), that is a serious hit the system with each one doing it's own thing. Give it a moment, and it will settle down eventually.

When you’re a certain distance from any airport the Ai for it need to be generated. You won’t notice a few for minor airports but for the major hubs - Heathrow, LAX, Atlanta - there are perhaps over 100 to be generated.

It’s impossible to do that without an impact on the system.

Hello,

Hello Ray,

I use NO tool , I use most of the flight plans created by "Welcome to AITrafic.ch", or others found on several sites.

These are modified to use my AI aircrafts and the flight plans are recompiled.

So there is no way to control the number of flight plans generated?

Thanks

@Emile, I’m not familiar with that package so can’t offer any advice, sorry.

I wouldn’t class something that stutters for a couple of seconds as something to be concerned about unless it occurs frequently. How often does it happen and how many plans do you have?

He is using BGL based AI, so the stutters are cased by the internal AI system loading the AI in the new active sector. Nut much to fix there unless using a FPS limiter

There's a traffic limiter feature built into FSUIPC (registered version) that works well with bgl-based traffic.

Hello and thanks

I forgot the feature in FSUIPC, I'll check that

Thanks a lot
