(Rhetorical questions) All points to poor management with a lack of interest, regardless of VR user numbers I just don't think they have their heart set on VR at all or even know which direction they want to take it in, case in point the very fact they weren't going to include VR at all initially. I fully accept this feature is not high priority and I could live with minor updates every now and then, but the very fact they've ignored the ( VR) wish list and bug sections for well over a year now speaks volumes to me, not to mention the SU7 mouse issues which should never of been allowed to manifest in the first place. I have no idea, but if I had a company and I had many things to fix, and 10% of my customers wanted something addressed, it would go on my back burner for sure.

April 11, 20224 yr This thread just proves again that there are two fundamentally different ways of looking at MSFS and its current state. Some users see a fantastic sim, beyond anything they could ever have imagined they would live long enough to see; others see it as OK, but not nearly what they expected -- a big disappointment. I wonder if there may be an age factor here. Those who have been flight simming for many years tend to fall into the first group, while younger simmers are more demanding, expecting perfection now if not sooner. As a member of the first group, I am continually amazed by this sim and flying as I never have before. The second group, it appears, is too obsessed with the faults of MSFS to be having much fun with it, which is unfortunate.

April 11, 20224 yr I miss the time I could run the game at Lod 100 with tree distance fix, then it really looked gorgeous graphical, so in that area it has gotten worse, but I think it has been improved a lot in other areas. Even if we dismiss the innumerable improvements since release cited by @pmb and others in this thread, the "tiny" fact that MSFS receives regular World Scenery Updates places MSFS decades ahead of P3D and X-Plane, both of whose default scenery is pretty much unusable for VFR flying and whose scenery is literally never updated between versions. At initial release in August 2020, the global scenery in MSFS was already spectacular, but it's nonetheless being constantly refined. These scenery updates are not to be dismissed as insignificant as the OP implied. Can you imagine the jubilation of X-Plane users if XP12's default scenery looked like MSFS's default scenery, never mind the constant updates to MSFS? Why do you think that the thus-far showcased videos of XP12 invariably hide the global scenery from view? Yes, you'll see a handcrafted airport or handcrafted landmarks, but the remaining 99.9% of the default global scenery is always hidden by clouds or darkness or out-of-focus bokeh in these official videos. If you doubt this, rewatch the videos. And, yes, I've heard that "XP12 is in early development." That's been their excuse since the Eisenhower Administration. Yes, I have been hearing from that side of the fence, for many years, " The next version will be spectacular". It has never happened. With MSFS, I have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars in add on scenery needed to " dress it up", like I had to do with P3D and FSX

I have been flying MSFS for over a year, and the improvements I have seen are excellent. I now fly, flight after flight, with good performance, great scenery, no CTDs in over a year except one which was my fault, it doesn't get any better than that and I have been simming for around 30 years. I take off, fly, and land with zero problems. Never had that in any sim I have had on my PC. I agree 100%. I'm in SU9 beta, and the overall experience has been fantastic. In regards to things we've never had before, I actually completed 3 flights in one session yesterday. I flew from Baltimore to Charlotte and then on to Tampa. MSFS was running for over 7 hours without a problem. That was unheard of in both FSX and P3D for me. On a good day, I could barely complete 2 legs without some sort of a problem or another. The scenery looks great, the weather looks great, and the FBW experimental version has been a whole lot of fun to fly. I'm a happy camper. I do think the OP is wrong. This sim gets better all the time. The growing pains are a little much for some people to handle, but most of us see it for what it is.
