I like flying in external view checking out scenery and do not care about cockpits or soap dispensers in virtual aircraft bathrooms. I have simmed for many years too. I also think CS have described the product accurately and have mislead no one. So give them a break. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. And not to sound too rude but people like you will be the exact reason why they’ll keep doing this. This is pure laziness and inability to create something up to todays standards. There’s freeware out there that include virtual cockpits. They should focus on fixing past garbage products they released and release this garbage for free… that’s what it is lazy garbage. Nobody is saying they are lying, people are just angry at the fact that they are charging for garbage. I’ll say it once again, time to either pack up and go or restructure the whole company and get rid of the tool running the show there. Edited April 12, 20224 yr by Ridvan Celik

I'd say it's being business savvy due to an inability to create/code up today's standards due to what many presume to be the loss of one or more programmers. There are likely a sizable contingent of simulation users that make use of the marketplace and are not on FS forums such as this. They want a cool looking plane and to fly it around on their xbox or pc and to look at the scenery. All in all, this product is not marketed at you or likely most here in the community. It's marketed at a new userbase who may be more conditioned toward dropping a few bucks routinely on "DLC" that may amount to just a skin/livery or small component of another package, and who don't know the history of this dev or what to expect of other FS products. I think the market dynamics are shifting a bit in MSFS due to the higher visibility on the digital platforms, and companies like CS are going to seek to take advantage of that. On flightsim.to the other trend is for users to acquire basic turbosquid models, add some animations and import it in the sim then call it done. Granted it's (usually) free, but it's the same overall concept. Quick, cheap, in-game, and meets a visual need for those not worried about high fidelity. You're not going to necessarily see this community in the wild because they aren't going to be reached by Avsim and Navigraph surveys, but they are there, and CS is likely making a good chunk of income off of them.
April 12, 20224 yr Maybe for their next project, they'll put up for sale Wonder Woman's plane. No need to build an interior or exterior for that. James

To that point, there are far more simmers who fly externally than from a 3d cockpit. Think about it, there are literally millions of young people who fly GTA using just external models....they're accustomed to this type of flying. In short, there's a market for this type of aircraft; moreover, I'm mystified why so many are offended by Capt Sim's market shift. To another poster's point, said market shift seems to be necessary as Capt Sim is clearly no longer intact. Matt King
April 12, 20224 yr Sad part is that this guy has the cockpit in it albeit some errors in the gauges, BUT it has a cockpit LOL Mike Intel 12700k No over clocking 32GB G-Skill 3600 Ram MSI RTX3080

No matter what the market shift is, there's no excuse for below par addons. They least they could do is slap in a low functional cockpit model. Better yet they should fix the planes they released half done to their customers. I haven't bought a product from them since P3D and wont again. Not after what I've seen. We'll chat soon when they release the cockpit for an extra 14.99 and well go from there. Oh and probably another 14.99 for the J model too.

April 12, 20224 yr I try very hard to understand this and respect people's opinions but something doesn't add up. We have trains, trucks, cars, boats, submarines simulators all with driver's compartments, cockpits, flight decks, etc and I didn't see yet anybody driving from the outside. Especially for an airplane without a cockpit. This is a new level beyond any imagination to be considered normal. But again, apparently, we do have people that entertain this odd idea. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Yes - but it'll be to separate models; hence you can only load the VC model OR the exterior model... 😄 LOL! Never thought I'd see the day. So a casual gamer would even be disappointed with the lack of cockpit on this plane from CS. It's Flight Simulator so the lack of a functioning cockpit is pitiful. I think it's just greedy from CS to pump out this kind of shovelware into the market because it will encourage other companies to cut corners and do the same.
April 12, 20224 yr Believe it or not, there are alot of pepole who fly in 3rd person (just have a look on twitch) and these people just want to have a fly about with friends in that mode. With XBOX in the mix and the 1 million+ players of this 'simulator' Captain Scum will make a nice amount of money from those customers. The proof will be if he releases more of this crud in the future I guess.
April 12, 20224 yr Are you guys aware of the very excellent C-130 mod available in DCS? With an incredibly detailed fully functional cockpit, to include HUD? With a fantastic flight model (it is DCS after all)? For free? Who the *#$@ would actually spend MONEY on this CS thing? This is hilarious! Andrew Crowley
April 12, 20224 yr Regardless of the policy that Captain Sim have decided to adopt, it is depressing to read the same old claptrap that follows their every release and reignites the tired rhetoric of those who have devoted their forum lives to denigrating everything that they do. It is the height of arrogance to assume that only the seasoned pretend pilot will be able to detect the difference between a model with or without a VC. The only ones that will fall into that trap are those whose attention span is too short to allow them to read the entire product description. I will not be buying this incomplete aircraft because it is incomplete and everyone is of course free to choose the same option.
