I went from London Heathrow to Paris on one of these many years ago (British Airways). The climb out was scary. It felt like 45 degrees! These things can go up like a rocket. The plane I was on was about half full, and probably not too much fuel to do the Paris run, and it was the steepest climb out I have ever experienced. December 10, 20223 yr Yeah i do recall these have really powerful engines for what they usually weight. Although they can be derated there's still a lot of power to use. This^ The 757 is famous for it and I used to love going on my holiday in one. In fact, the first plane I ever went on was a 757 and I flew on many over the years. It remains my favourite airliner for all sorts of reasons. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
