NAV and ECAM display brightness issue FBW A320

Recommended Posts

Have noticed in the last couple of weeks, maybe longer, that nav and ecam displays will suddenly increase brightness going through clouds. Even at night. Not a big deal for the ECAM, but the attitude indicator gets so bright, it is almost unreadable. Could that be a setting on my part?

Have this also (using EXP version). Don't know if it's present in the stable version also. Since I'm using EXP version (which will obviously contain also some bugs, I did not feel the need to write about it).

It's a bug indeed and they know about it. Can be a bit annoying (immersion killing) sometimes indeed.

I find the PFD/Nav etc very dark sometimes, even with all the lighting turned right up. almost unreadable. Maybe there's a connection.

It seems to be an issue with how MSFS handles the glass shader. Alternatives are being looked into.

Crazy that this was 18 months ago and I still have this problem.
But surely there must be a solution? Default and other addons don't have this issue?

I find myself constantly adjusting the brightness of the displays on both the Fenix A320 and the FBW A320. PMDG 737, not so much. So maybe an Airbus thing? (Doubt it, though)

I asked about this on their Discord channel and a lead dev there said it's built into the model they inherited to work with, and unless they build a new model themselves it will likely stay that way.  Interesting Fenix has some of this too.
