Saw that. But as I do not have Twitter I do not know if there is more in the tweet…

So they are aware of it, that can be good. Don’t see the point in that tweet though… 😳

Just wanted to mention that I deleted the photogrammetry files.

Before: approach into iniScene EGLL 09L. FPS decreased to around 20. After touchdown below 20. Unplayable stutterfest.

After: FPS no lower than 24 on the ground. Few stutters but mostly smooth. MS live traffic with AIG models.

I had TLOD 200, OLOD 150 and settings high-ultra.

Ultra clouds do put some load on the GPU. Here is a quick test I did over Denver a major photogrammetry airport in the US. You have mountains, PG city, large airport and an executive airport, which I took off from and flew toward the city. C173 with G1000.

Reason: Asobo continues to have basically no clue about their own engine and simply plays around with it. Sometimes they get stuff fixed by chance, sometimes they break things. If they would really KNOW their own engine, such things should not happen 2 years after release... /sarcasm off.

At times I think they use the million monkey development methodology - Give a million monkeys a million piano's and one of them will eventually play Beethoven.

It would appear I'm paying a hefty price for my ultra clouds. Thanks for the report.

Wow, that’s almost a 16fps drop going from low to ultra.

Just did a flight from Rabat, Morocco to Ghardaia, Algeria. In terms of scenery not a very demanding flight. But weather was very heavy; clouds up to FL380, several layers and cloud types, visibility about 1000m at airport.

I’m at clouds ultra. Still GPU core usage on average <20%. CPU <8% on average. RAM <20%. Frames locked to 30.

Hmmm, can you please explain how you did that, I am a bit worried to mess with the main files. Thank you

Perhaps a silly question; is it not an alternative to switch photogrammetry off in the sim menu rather than uninstall all the photogrammetry cities?

Yes, it is an option in the Options, on the Data page.

Don't worry, this is no "hack" or something, you are just deleting downloadable content. You can always install and use the one from the location you are at, just not all together.

Just to be sure. With "after" you mean you re-did the entire flight? Or just loaded at the ground? Because coming in to an approach is MUCH more taxing than loading a flight on the ground, so that would not be comparable.
I'm asking because at Iniscenes EGLL I find only 2-3 FPS of difference (like: 27 instead of 24) when I turn off PG entirely in the data settings.

To me, it isn’t about fps. It’s about frame drops, smoothness. How much the main thread is limited.
