Houses and building in North America look decayed

Featured Replies

I thought this was just  a VR  issue,  but just checked and the same in non Vr but whenever I  fly In North America., e.g. New York and surrounding area, Florida, the houses look like they are out of a post apocalypse movie.  Strange shaped, squashed  roofs,  very dull walls with marks on them.

Places like London, Spain, any Uk , Germany , Netherlands , France  and even South America  they look great.  I have not installed any scenery add on 's  only MSFS scenery.  Tried deleting the rolling cache, and just updated to the latest version of MSFS,  still the same.

My download speed is currently a steady 38mbs

Has anyone experienced this and any suggestions out there?

cheers

That's normal for photogrammetry especially if you don't have uber fast internet connection.  Are you saying you have 38 MB/sec or 38 mbps?

If it's only a 40 mbps connection that's your issue.

I desperately need to know the history behind how this became a thing, because right now, I feel like early computer pioneers were trolling. 😂

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Well for download speeds it's typically in MB/sec but ISP's advertise a Mbps speed hehe - and most people get confused about it.

I am not so sure... my Internet connection is 26 Mbps and for most situations it is sufficient.

The melted buildings in my experience, are linked to MS server performance more than my download speeds.. and right now, MS server performance is not good.. regular "Connection lost" messages etc..

Anything is possible- I've even got a 200 down and sometimes the buildings don't load all the way unless I pause my sim.

I average 200MBs and USA photogrammetry looks awful for me too.  I turned it off in favour of FPS and better lighting on the buildings.

It happens to me even with downloaded PG sceneries. They need to be enhanced as they did for Spain. There are some areas in Portugal where PG looks amazing!

Likewise, same as in Newcastle U.K. I have just turned PG off.

Does it improve ever?  Are we deciding this is a CPU issue?  I've got a fast one now however at speeds over 200 knots they turn apocalyptic.

Luckily PG can be switched on and off in under a minute while inflight.

Thanks all. At least I know it’s not a corruption in the instal and I will just live with it. Could of ended up for hours messing   with settings to try and improve it.

would using the local cache download option improve it ?

Thanks for all your help 👍

Maybe not - DJ is saying he already tried downloading a chunk of PG and it didn't help.  Could be a general CPU loading thing.

I think PG (buildings) is much better in Spain after the WU8. The areas that they enhanced look good to me.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding and they are custom buildings, but I don't think so.
