Was thinking the exact same thing - perhaps some insight as to what this has fixed would be useful as ESSA is an airport that I'd like to fly to?

It fixes the broken ESSA airport - the Asobo default airport, if you have the Nordics enhanced pack installed. It has been broken for a long time.

Is the Asobo fix supposed to be included in SU12 in place, I can't see any changes? 
Or did I miss somethin?

Hopefully it is fixed now as the authors of the ESSA fixes on flightsim.to have deleted their files following the whole terms and conditions fiasco.
