Please insert game disk

I rebooted my PC, trying to start MSFS, and this message keeps popping up, and I downloaded MSFS from the MS Store. Any ideas?

3 posts on the same subject might suggest that the problem might not be at your end Bob.  When this has happened to me in the past, a reboot and restart has fixed it, though I note that you have already tried that.

Double-check that your system time is accurate and in sync with your time server. A mis-match following an upgrade, is what triggered this problem for me earlier today.

reports are coming all over with same issue. Dont waste your time with this...

Yes it is set correctly. I posted on the Official MS Forum and someone replied that other people are having the same issue.

We should not have to figure this out by asking around on fora on the internet.
It's almost as if the "Please insert the game disc" message is the only error message the programmers bothered to include.

I guess this shows that if something happens to the mS servers, you can't even play the sim offline. Your sim turns into a brick...

If there is a fatal flaw with MSFS….this would be it.

I just landed from a two hour flight, online without issues.  I'm on Steam so wonder if this is just a Store version problem?
