Did you get back up and running? I know how you feel. It's disconcerting when the sim does not load or pop up errors prevent us from enjoying our investment. We are at their mercy. MSFS

Don't know what to do...Guess I will just run the word not allowed update and see what happens. I asked this question on the official FS Forum last night, and after a few replies they locked the topic.... Edited May 7, 20224 yr by Bobsk8

Bit weird that it would randomly tell you to update when nothing has been released. CPU AMD Ryzen 9800X3D | GPU NVIDIA RTX 3080 | RAM 32 GB DDR5 6000

Bob, Before going ahead with that update (which is almost certainly an erroneous duplicate of SU9), I'd try logging out of the Xbox App and the MS Store, then logging back into both, and launching MSFS. I've had constant notifications to update before (when I knew I was up to date), and that was the advice from MS Zendesk (and on this rare occasion, it actually worked). Worth a try. Well watching this stuff that is in the update which I am running now, it looks like it is reinstalling all the things that I uninstalled a couple of weeks ago with content manager that I never use like tutorials, aircraft liveries etc.... It looks like what Asobo does is it looks at the prrogram, and it sees default items that are missing, it reinstalls them. I remember steam used to do that with the railroad sim I had. Glad you figured it out. I was wondering if that w a s your issue as I was thinking of removing a bunch of stuff. Maybe not a good idea. Maybe others knowhow to make it stick. I guess with all the sign on problems yesterday, it tripped the server into checking if the sim was complete, and then it wanted to reload all the missing content it saw as an update. 🙄

Normally if you uninstall correctly the server remembers and it will not prompt a re-install of deleted items from the content manager. If you delete the folders manually from the OneStore folder it prompts a re-install. I'm glad you got that sorted. The one thing I have done is backed up all 188 GIG "OneStore" folder and zipped the Program Files, WindowsApps, WpSystem folders in order to successfully back them up. I have MSFS 2020 in a separate drive so re-installing is much easier since everything is backed up, including a win 10 image just in case. MSFS

Yes that is what I thought, and I did use the content manager. I am now up to 20GB of the 32 GB download, and it is still installing aircraft I never use.... Edited May 7, 20224 yr by Bobsk8
