PMDG 737 pricing

Recommended Posts

I'm happy I got the NGXu so I'll simply use the first $69.99 on the 737-700 and use the left over $30 credit on the 737-800.

My $99 almost got me 2.5 PMDG packages for the price of one. (P3D NGXU  + MSFS 737  + $30 on second MSFS 737 )

The price is right. On the other hand, it will be a long wait for the 800/900. I'll be patient.

There ya go, speculation can end.  Personally I’ll buy the -700 and -800 (using and finishing off my NGXu credit respectfully).  I’ll probably buy the -900 but the -600 would be a hard sell at US$50.

Very good Pricing!

What is the difference between 800 and the 700?

Leonardo is a tad Over priced!

I hope the C310 would be pricing Appropriately!

I am having a hard time digesting the idea that pricing is “more than fair.” What would simply be just fair? An entire package of variants would cost more than $200. Please feel free to correct me if I am missing something.

Cheers, Pete

You are correct, It will cost more than 250$ for all variants.

I will forget the idea of getting the 600 and 800, and take the 700 early

I paid 69.99 USD way back when for the FSX 737-800 series.  I'm happy paying the same for just the -700 model 10+ years later here in MSFS.  I'm mostly a BBJ bizjet guy anyway.

Less actually. According to an online inflation calculator, an item costing $69.99 in 2012 dollars would cost 87.59 today.

Good to see the 800  will also have the same promotional price.

I think when Rob speak about the same price for the 700 and 800, he meant 74.99

For those who didn’t purchase the NGXu fast enough, I don’t understand why some folks declare “the price is right.” PMDG has just as much money from me as they do from almost anyone else. Couple that with the 5,000 “please take my credit card right now” posts I’ve been seeing for years, I am a bit annoyed. I imagine there are far more people who don’t have a credit to offset the cost of the MSFS 737 than those that do. Depending on who you are, the price may not be right. I’m not trying to start a war, but the more I think about it I am a bit disappointed. Sure, I’ll buy the 700 because I want it, but I can’t justify each new variant costing essentially the same. This is just my opinion, so please, in advance, don’t attack me. I can afford all of them if I desire, but that is not the point. The bottom line is that for those without a credit, the pricing sort of stinks if you want more than one variant. Again, I am only speaking for myself, but I have been attacked previously in these forums for having the nerve to question PMDG pricing.

Cheers, Pete

That may be true, but the most recent offerings for P3D were purchased within the last couple of years. That said, I compare the current pricing more against the P3D pricing.

Quite honestly, the existing P3D customer base looking to buy this for MSFS, especially those that want multiple variants are very probably small compared to the customer base looking to buy just one variant, especially those who're new to PMDG in general.  This is what PMDG is targeting, and rightfully so from a business perspective. Either which way, especially from the standpoint of only purchasing one of the 600/700/800/900 (each of which comes with all its derivatives), this is a pretty good price.

I think it 'depends on your situation.  If you intend to buy ALL of the variants, then no it's not the best deal as demonstrated by basic math.

If like most people (I'd imagine) you probably have your eye on 1-2 of them at most, I think it's a good deal.  It's not some earth shattering pricing, but... it's a good deal for a study level airliner.

I assume they pieced out the variants as standalones like this to both try and cast a wider net for buyers, and to enter impulse buy territory with their pricing.

Yes, I think you may be right.  I have updated my post with an edit at the bottom to specify that the 800 may cost $74.99 and there won’t be a promotional price for the 800.

Well....if this helps with the value...you'll all be getting these paints with nary a penny more.

wvZaa0.png

Given the short notice on the release (the beta testers are not privy to detailed release info either...we found out when you did, hehe), I have been working hard to get them all complete.  I hope to, but one may be delayed a bit,

Not to worry though...in one week, the gigantic painting community has already created 6-7 pages of repaints for the MD...and the 737 has tons more airlines who fly her...so you will have liveries coming out of your ears! 🤣

I just hope, in their rush to be the 1st ones with new paints that they won't just slap some textures on and push them out...there is a lot to painting correctly, and this plane has a few things to watch for.  And I especially hope they won't "borrow" textures in the rush to get them out.   You guys deserve better than that and I hope you guys call them out if you see it happening. 😉
