iniBuilds A310 interesting tidbit

Recommended Posts

From the iniBuilds discord, their lead chiming in on their A310 flight model in MSFS vs XP (specific text of note near bottom of discussion below: "Just to be fully clear, our flight model in MSFS is on par to XP, So those still wanting to negate MSFS as a viable sim solution based on those reasons, don't speak too soon")

This is very interesting. The flight model is getting more and more advanced in MSFS.  It's frightening the pace that MSFS is improving.

Another thing I noticed about iniBuilds is that they keep announcing new scenery products for MSFS.  When I went to their website, it looked like all their recent products were targeted at MSFS.  I think iniBuilds is going all in on MSFS.

The pace is definitely welcome!... And to be quite honest, I think the MSFS core flight-model/aerodynamics capabilities were being let down by Asobo's poor implementation of their default aircraft (and I didn't really expect them to do more since it's default aircraft after all)... so MSFS just needed some good aircraft developers to come along and properly take advantage of the core aerodynamics engine in their aircraft implementations.  Regardless, Asobo keeps speeding forward with adding features like CFD, softbody physics, world airflow improvements etc so it's only going to get better.

X-plane flight model superiority is just marketing for simmers! Each software have pros and cons and it applies to both MSFS or XP11.

No idea why all this fuss about flight model, I mean at the end we are just chair pilots and there will be no sim on earth that will ever mock the real thing. Instead, we just enjoy the immersion

Excellent news, this was my last important purchase parked in XP11 for changing to FS2020. I miss too my 727 from FlyJSim.

Found iniBuilds' discord itself finally...

See from here onwards: https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/784467650612822016/970767836064677999 ... copy/paste of noteable quotes:

Profile mod is how it is int eh aircraft
a lot of the xp stuff that was not done, has been implemented in msfs
We will be making statements on our future plans soon though
But first later this week, we have a big announcement

MJ — 04/05/2022
trust me, hang in there. It’s going well.

Cammac — 06/05/2022
All I can say is we have based the handling from the real aircraft. It's not as protected as the later family aircraft. A310 line pilots even reduced the speed back when in LVL change and then press LVL change so it actually sits at the correct speed as they expected it to overshoot. And none of them use PROFILE on the line. Some of course try but most report trying to use it and then giving up. And I understand you have some experience but we did also have quite a few people rated on the aircraft validate it's AP handling and it's quirks.

To be fully clear, you bought a product for XP11
XP12 was not on the market whatsoever
We have never sold a product saying XP 12 comparability is to be expected
Just to be fully clear, our flight model in MSFS is on par to XP
So those still wanting to negate MSFS as a viable sim solution based on those reasons - don’t speak too soon.

Lol glad to be of help!... It's easier to navigate and read in a browser via computer I find (rather than mobile), and just seems like the most current discussions/news directly from developers are to be found on their discords. Since each discord channel is effectively like a long-running group chat I agree trying to find info there is like hunting for needles in multiple haystacks.

Ini please, just an update about the a310 for msfs.. I only have hopes for you guys when it comes to long haul aircraft right now and that’s all Ive been wanting to fly

MJ — Today at 06:26
it’s been going amazing
hang in there

Tang0 — Today at 12:29
It will be interesting to see whether some users will still experience heavy fps drops the longer the flight runs

MJ — Today at 12:40
new code base - no sasl
and that wasn't an issue for most users - xp and poor pc specs

I'm really keen for this bird too. Love the oldies.

Ya something about them... I guess this will also be the first high fidelity long-hauler wide-body for MSFS before the likes of the PMDG 777/747 and others drop.

Is the A300 coming, too?

Don‘t like the A310 too much, it‘s like its chubby unattractive brother. 😂
