Does steam have issues with delayed updates and/or incompatibility's with certain payware?  Or is that no to both?

Nope, no issues at all

STEAM VERSION!!!

So much easier to manage.

I assume I would need to setup a Steam account? Also, do you have to download some sort of Steam app on your computer? Never had to deal with this as I only ever ran P3D. Thank you

My experience with the MS Store version motivates me to recommend the Steam version. Less hassle is a bonus.

Yes you need a steam account since is how the ownership is validated. Yep, you need to install steam app. But all in all, is super easy, I have been using steam before MSFS times with XP11 and is always problem free.

I find Steam DRM more user friendly compared to others (I'm looking at you P3D and DCS). They have tons of sales and literally 1000's of games available too. Way back when, I bought two copies of FSX Steam for like $7 each on two separate accounts I created to gift to people who've never used flight simulators.

Btw...screen caps from the Steam Chart website captured this morning 5/14/2022:

Additionally, the Steam client provides lots of tools too: like mods (aka SteamWork Shop which magically appear in-game after you opted in), screenshots, discussion groups, etc. And, lots of miscellaneous info available... Interesting info:

No problems with the MS Version on PC, though I do need to go to the XBOX app in the start menu to kick off updates.

I avoid steam where possible (for some games it is not possible) because both Valve and a large cohort of Steam users are very toxic.

Person who built my computer keeps telling me to go MS

Now i am in doubt with myself

I own the MS store version.  My two cents: if you plan to play this on XBox, then get the MS Store version because you cannot play MSFS on XBox with the Steam version.

If you don't care about XBox, get the Steam version.  There have been some issues with the MS Store version in the past, getting updates.  But Steam updates seem to be very smooth from forum posts I have seen.

Finally, you can also play MSFS on gamepass.  The caveat is, once you quit subscribing to gamepass, you cannot use MSFS anymore (ie. be careful if you use gamepass and you purchase add-ons in the MSFS marketplace, because if you lose access to MSFS once you quit subscribing to gamepass, that would be a bummer).

You can only play MSFS Standard Edition on Gamepass. If you want to play Premium Deluxe you have to buy it. I did buy it, coz I have Premium Deluxe on Steam.

Oh nice, I never knew that. I would have bought the Premium Deluxe Version for MSFS anyways since I've waited some 12 years, since the last update to FSX, for a next gen flight simulator. The Premium Deluxe version comes with the 787 so that's a fun default airliner to fly, until the higher fidelity airliners came out for MSFS (and those higher fidelity airliners are finally starting to come out).

Recently, I also got Gamepass, but not for MSFS of course.

When a vendor needs to publish a roadmap in order to complete a simple online purchase, it's time for some select firing.

use to be so simple before.     Also is it much difference in performance between a 3080 10g card and a 3080 12g card
