Of course the trees look like this. This is photogrammetry. You are not supposed to fly that low.

What’s the point in hand crafting individual buildings then? How else are you supposed to see them? 🤦🏼‍♂️

Yep, the tree fix simply makes the trees look like cut-off blobs. I personally prefer overlarge trees to PG blobs so I've removed the fix. Still debating whether or not to keep the WU itself. Venice looked good and an improvement on the previous version but I'll need to explore a bit more before I decide. Maybe by then they'll have fixed it.

As I've said many times here, I really, really like MSFS, and I've spent a bundle on it one way or another, but lately it's turning into a really obnoxious adolescent child. I feel like I do still love it, but it's a struggle to remember that I do. I just want to slap it (non PC I know, but there you go)

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case.

After visiting ROME I decided to uninstall the region. I experienced stutters... and crackling sound.

Odd, I haven't experienced any of that.

Also the Vittoriano in Piazza Venezia, behind on the left in the photo, is not so good, it seems there is a gap with terrain

If you mean it is floating above the default terrain, I had that too. I switched off Photogrammetry, restarted the sim and reloaded a Rome flight. Problem solved. I then re-enabled photogrammetry and all was still fine (other than the other issues people are having). But at least the Vittoriano was grounded again. It's a stunning building to visit in real life but I share the locals' displeasure that ancient buildings were destroyed to give it a home.

Agree. I prefer overlarge trees to PG blobs too. That said, I still want to say thanks to Mriya for all his effort. Some might prefer the trees mod, especially when flying high.

Hopefully Asobo acknowledges the too large and too tall (100+ ft)  trees + multiple flatten issues and takes action.

I probably will uninstall this WU for now and purchase Prealsoft Rome to enhance the default version.

I have just switched off Photogrammetry in the sim, in the hope that it will be updated and fixed. Reluctant to install and uninstall stuff in this sim. In the mean time the world really does not look bad without it. Have not yet been back to take a close look at the famed and fabled Giant Forest of Rome tho…

I switched off Photogrammetry just now at LIRN , and the weird mounds of rocks, disappeared and everything looked normal. I switched it back on and the weirdness returned.

You just can't make this stuff up....🤣

What ding dong doesn't have the logic to grasp how photogrammetry works almost two years into MSFS?

If you want a better ground level experience simply turn PG off and enjoy cleaned up generic scenery. MS/Asobo atleast gives you that option.

PG works fine for what it is at 5,000+ feet altitude, you start going below and the PG LODs are gonna appear melted ugly and crummy by design.

Folks are just downright delusional with expectations at this point.🙄

MSFS team just posted on twitter that a reduction to tree size in all Italian photogrammetry cities affected has been done as a server-side fix, so no download required.

Weird indeed. I have not had any issues like that with PG cities after every WU. It's usually smooth and they looked very good from 1500ft.

I'm sure that Italy will eventually be updated. For now, I'll just leave it uninstalled.

MSFS 2020, what an amazing sim!

So then, as I have stated above, answer this question:- What is the point in hand crafting unique buildings in PG areas that one can ONLY see by flying below 1000ft?

Flying over Rome now and it does look a bit better. Still too green, but better than it was.
