Finally Windows 11 is offered

Recommended Posts

Pretty unexpected Windows 10 offered Windows 11 to me today. I didn't want to spend hours installing at the moment. What happens to installed programs, addons from Prepar3D? Are they kept in the registry as if I did an inplace upgrade? How long takes the update?

The update takes approximately 30 minutes and P3 d with all programs works well.

Meh, I was offered it yesterday too. Declined it. It messed up my X-Plane 11 plugins some time ago and I went back to Windows 10 two weeks ago.

I took the plunge, since Windows 11 is released quite some time now. I like some new features, like the window splitting you can select on the maximise rectangle. I didn´t like it took away all my tiles I had in the start menu, replacing them with the commercial partner apps of Micro$oft. Well that´s not new. But in general, it keept all my programs like before. One difference is the reduced context menu, which was really irritating me, since I use that a lot for flightsim editing work. But thanks to Google I could find a fix https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/windows-11-classic-context-menus and now I can use straight forward again.
