Fenix - Thrustmaster issues?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else unable to calibrate the Thrustmaster a320 throttled to work with the Fenix? In my case, the engines keep cutting back to idle no matter how often I recalibrate (neither do they animate the levers in the cockpit).

Don't use it but in the FAQ there's:

Q: I’m using the ThrustMaster Airbus TCA controller and throttle quadrant but can’t map the controls properly
A: MSFS has multiple control binds for throttle controls. For the TCA controller you need to map your controls to ‘Throttle 1 Axis’ & ‘Throttle 2 Axis’.

Maybe your issue could be there?

I believe on the discord channel the streamer chewwy is about to put up a video on how to set it up.

wish someone would do one for the bravo quadrant, my reversers aren’t having it.

Thanks for your help but mine seems to be bound correctly.

Thanks for your help - I have put in a support ticket.

Hello friends, thanks for the link but... it doesn't let you see it, can you pass on the solution? I already wrote 2 messages to fenix without any response.
Thank you

From the Fenix Knowledge Base:

TCA Throttle is not able to be calibrated.

In this article, we go over a potential bug you may find during TCA throttle calibration.

If you have a joystick or another other devices with a sliding axis, ensure that they do NOT have a throttle axis assigned to any sliders. The ONLY device that should have a throttle axis is your TCA Throttle Quadrant.

If your TCA Flap handle does not respond correct, visit: https://kb.fenixsim.com/flaps-are-unresponsive-/-flaps-calibration

One of our testers recently found that they were unable to calibrate their TCA throttle, detailing that the throttle was on 00:00% the whole time during the calibration menu.

Even following a complete re-install of the sim, the TCA throttle wasn't being recognized by the calibration menu. The default TCA profile essentially did not work.

The fix to this issue is quick and painless.

Our tester found that there are two throttle 1 axes...

One marked throttle 1 axis.

One marked throttle 1 axis (0-100%) within the calibration tool.

The image below, while showing 2 different axes, will reflect the different names for the throttle calibration.

If you use the default calibration, which is the (0-100%) calibration, the sim will not recognize it. To fix this issue, simply clear the calibration, search for "throttle 1 axis" within the calibration menu and assign it to the relevant joystick axis.

You may need to set the Axis up manually - as sometimes these units like to pretend they're buttons. The assignments are as follows for the TCA:

Throttle 1 Axis - Joystick L-Axis X

Throttle 2 Axis - Joystick L Axis Y

Please ensure your throttle axis sensitivity is set correctly. You should set all settings to 0%, excluding reactivity, which should be 100%. We recommend you set this before going through throttle calibration.

Once you have completed the above, we'd recommend running the Fenix throttle calibration via the MCDU MENU > CONFIG > CONTROL CONFIG

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe
